Teach For America 2013 Corps

@teach4them has your TF status changed?

Hello All!
Joining the waiting game, interviewed October 18th in Washington, D.C.
TF still under review :/

@ Jordanrose1

My status changed on the 23rd. I applied before the deadline on Oct 12th, and I interviewed on the 18th.

T-minus 30 hours until notification.

@ crazygolfer68: lol! Thanks for tracking!

Haha. Were many of you sent straight to the final interview?

@teach4them: Are you saying that the deadline for TF was Oct 12? I thought it was Oct 19…

@crazygolfer68 - I was sent straight to the final interview.

I applied on the 12th. I just assumed that the 12th was the deadline for TF, that could have been something I made up myself… either way if you applied before the deadline, whenever it was, you should get your numbers on notification day granted that they have all the info they need.

Likewise. I’ve heard that’s usually a good sign but they still reject people who they’ve sent straight to the final round.

@crazygolfer68

I was also sent straight to final interview.

@Jordanrose1 The TF deadline was the 19th, so you were right! :)

I hope this works out, I am really commited to what TFA is doing. Tommorow well all know!!! This is my 2nd time applying

Final interview on Oct. 16th, TF still under review

I was sent straight to the final interview. And for those who are tracking this (or will track it) my TF has been complete for around a week I think.

I was sent straight to the final interview, as well… I’ve been wondering if this has any bearing on admissions decisions. Does anybody know anything about this?

As for where I will be tomorrow at 6 PM, IN LAB! I am not planning to check my status until after my class, because if the news is bad I will have to sit through a 4-hour lab trying to hide my emotions… not a good combo, haha.

I don’t think being straight to the final interview has any bearing on your admission, officially. Even if it unofficially helps your chance, TFA would never say that those who don’t do a phone interview have better odds.

I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t concentrate on anything today. I’m thinking I might starting reading more about my backup plan, the ABCTE certification. I don’t have a degree in education so I need an alternative certification in order to teach. What are your backup plans?

@Oktfa2013, stay optimistic :)

@OKTFA2013 I feel the same way! I have two exams tomorrow and it has been so difficult for me to concentrate on studying. As far as a back up plan, I am going to apply for D.C. Teaching Fellows and a few other programs if I’m not accepted to TFA.

@MinorityDreamer - trying so hard to do so. With my TF status still under review, it’s tough. I know it may mean nothing, but the fact that nothing is changing is weighing heavily on my shoulders. I need coffee! Hehe.

Trick-or-Treating with my kids tonight will help. :)
