I think that’s how it started, in response to my online activity. I tried to base my answers on the reading we had- making appropriate assessments and involving students in their design. Just felt intense!

I interviewed in Detroit on Monday! It was a lot less stressful than I thought. The interviewers were very thorough and made us feel comfortable. The interviewer I had was very thorough and asked a lot of questions. I also asked him a lot of questions at the end. I think I did good, but you never know until you find out you got the job. I am looking to be placed in Detroit (high need area). I did receive an email from the Detroit regional area saying congratulations for making it through the Final Evaluation Interview. I thought it was congratulating me on getting the job until I read it through some more. We were encouraged to make Detroit a high preference on our preference form. So I am hoping that I am accepted into TFA. I wish they would let us know earlier than Mar. 13, but they have so many applicants to choose from for each state. I was told that a lot of people do not like to preference Detroit…I am wondering how much of that is true.

Good Luck to everyone!

I am surprise how there aren’t as many people posting in this thread for the 4th deadline either. This two week wait is killing me, but it seems shorter than what some of the other DLs had to wait. So we are lucky in the aspect.

Yes, the wait is killing me too! I am usually very patient but am finding it hard throughout this process. Oklahoma was my high priority region.
@Afradett91 My group was made up of 9 girls- we were surprised there weren’t any males in our group

@needtoteach wow! maybe they need males to teach? Yeah they pushed us too on the high need areas as well!

@Afradett91 I would agree with that-- if you look at most of the public school systems, there are not a lot of male teachers. There are several at my kids schools but the majority of teachers are female.

for sure! I just don’t want to wait anymore!

Me either! I haven’t had this many emotions at once EVER. Excited, nervous, anxious…

What subject/grade placement did you want?

Yeah, it stinks you replaying the final interview over and over. And dissecting every little thing. Did anyone get an email or text from their recruiters asking them about their interview?

@NCSUTeach My recruiter texted me and asked how it went. Did yours contact you?

@needtoteach Mine did too, except she was the original recruiter I spoke with, it was the regional recruiter whom I’ve never really spoken to.

I haven’t had any contact with a regional recruiter. What region are you?

I’m in NC. My original recruiter, I met with was out of Durham and then I got passed along to someone out of Atlanta. I doubt it means much, other than I was maybe reassigned to someone else.

My recruiter is from the Atlanta area as well. It might be a good sign but I have given up on reading anything into everyone’s very different experiences. I haven’t received a survey about regional preferences like some have either. I think maybe each region is different and that is how our experiences differ. Trying to stay positive, you know?

No, I totally understand. I have combed through this message board quite a bit, reading about 85 % of it. For the most part, the only thing that seems to consistent is the transitional funding aspect. I have been trying not to read too much into anything either. I just know that the area I highly preference (Seattle/Puget Sound) is a contentious area and not everyone knows the debate that has been going on with that area since TFA started there. And I think they just wanted to send an overview to make me aware. I’m trying to stay positive also, but these two weeks will be very long.

I am willing to teach anything and build onto what I get. (If I get placed) I hope the high need areas need a lot of people. I looked on pervious boards and it didn’t seem like a lot of people placed those areas.

Yeah same here, though I highly preference Math, Science and special education. Going over my transcript, I was surprised how many different science and math classes I have taken, for not being either majors.

I agree! What areas did you pick?

I got a survey to be in a certain region as well after my interview but I can’t do it in that region anymore for personal reasons. I have no idea what to do, any advice?
