@pastaholic my online activity still says incomplete as well. Looks like they are still having problems with system.

@Rolemodel32 I"m a little worried because I was hoping to stay in the northeast because of some personal reasons, but I am still excited about Memphis! I’m surprised you didn’t get placed there if it was your 1st choice–can I ask what made you put it down as first?

Yep, my online activity says “Not Submitted” as well. Must be a system glitch.

I think that I did really well in my online activity. I was was super nervous during the phone interview but I think it went fine. I memorized and tried to follow the STAR method the best that I could.

@teacherhope123 I assume I didn’t get Memphis because I only highly preferred English and Social Studies. My major is Social Studies Education and I assume they wanted to place me somewhere where I would be able to teach Social Studies. Maybe Memphis didn’t have enough slots for SS but who knows haha!

But Memphis was my 1st choice because it’s a very affordable city and the teacher salary there appears to start relatively high when you compare it to other places. So I researched the city some more and it seems to provide people with a “homey” vibe even though its a large city. I know it’s a very poor city, but I feel like it’s a city that would welcome you rather than be skeptical of your presence if that makes any sense.

@sarahbea126 @stressedgrad8 - I just got an email from TFA admissions saying that they are still working on the glitch and it should be updated within the next four hours or so. But she also confirmed that she has my completed responses so I assume it’s not really a big issue then!

I felt good about the online activity too. I don’t have a phone interview and I haven’t worked with a recruiter or anything so this final interview is literally going to be the first time I’ve had any major interaction with TFA staff! A little nervous, but the process doesn’t seem too bad.

@pastaholic excellent I got the same email! I was worried I would have to do the online activity over again. Also I find out next week if I got a final interview!!Good luck 3rd Deadliners. May the odds be ever in our favor!

Congrats to everyone who has received good news so far. I’ve been reading along with the thread since the beginning, but haven’t actually posted here in about 5 or 6 years so I finally caved and created a new user.

I applied for the 3rd deadline, and have my phone interview in a few hours - the nerves are starting to creep in!

Glad to hear that some of you (@pastaholic, @iteacher) received email responses regarding the online activity issue. Mine has been completed since Saturday, and I reached out regarding the status update a long while ago and haven’t received a response yet. It’s reassuring to know that it’s being handled on TFA’s end.

I haven’t been able to log onto tfanet either - and I’m very anxious to check it out! Also, still waiting for a call from someone to discuss my placement. I’m nervous about being social studies. Apparently I highly preferred it, but didn’t mean to. I was really hoping for English just because I know that’s something I’d be great at and really passionate about.

@emac

I know exactly what you mean. Even though changing your placement is a rare thing, are you planning to try?

For those of you who are having trouble logging into your TfaNet accounts (as I was) try linking it to your Facebook if you have one. Once you’re in, you can cancel the linkage request and unlink them, but somehow I was able to log on this way.

Actually, nevermind that isn’t a permanent fix it :/

I just got an email about the glitch with the Status Update for the online activity for 3DL peeps and it has been fixed! I logged in and saw that it was updated to Submitted. Whoo!

@museumed check now your status. The online activity has just been changed to submitted! and good luck with the phone interview. Just take huge deep breaths. You will be fine. They do call you right on the dot. Good luck!

Where are all the 3rd deadliners at?
I am from Texas!

@iteacher I’m a 3DL and so excited to be done with the phone interview and online activity! I guess we just have to play the waiting game now!

@sarabea126 What state are you from? yes I am so glad we jumped over one hoop of the admissions and now we wait…

@emac I think that getting your placement changed is really rare, especially for something you highly preferred. I know how you feel though! At least for social studies, though, many of the skills and lessons in English are transferrable! It’s still about synthesis of information and critical thinking, to an extent, just with history rather than literature, right??
Also, you know they placed you there because there is a huge need for it so you’re going to be making a big difference! That’s exciting!

@townie01 This is a super late response but I think you will love Nashville! I have a ton of family there and it is a super cool city! I also have a friend who is a CM there now and she is having a great time!

@iteacher I’m a 3DL. I’m from Chicago, but I go to school in another state. Time to play the waiting game…

@iteacher I’m from Alabama but go to school in Florida.

Thx for all who encouraged me about not finishing the 30 min part of the online activity. Just finished my phone interview. Seemed to go okay, but who knows? Waiting…Good luck to everyone!

@stressedgrad8 nice to meet you. I have visited Chicago twice in my lifetime and I loved it
I loved the navy pier, the skating rink, the transit systems, and the huge H&M
.
@sarabea126 I have a friend who goes to Auburn and she loves Alabama!

@jtenglish Yeah I wouldn’t worry to much about it and yay we all jumped through that first hoop.

HOW TO MAKE TIME PASS?
