I got in - i’m crying!!
Do you guys know how we can talk to the regional expert person who helps us with placements?
I have no idea but I’d love to talk to someone! Okay, on the Assignment Preference page under the section Selecting Your Regions has anyone else noticed a typo? In italics it reads : “If a region does not appear on your map, this means you do meet the requirements of GPA, teacher certification, or citizenship.” Am I missing something? Shouldn’t the regions that aren’t appearing on our map mean that we do NOT meet the requirements? I want the ones ON my map lol or did they intend to say “this means you do NOT meet the requirements of…”
Has anyone received an actual email acceptance yet?
@kbizztho I haven’t received an email acceptance, but I never received an email inviting me to the interview either.
I received the email, but I am also confused about the map part. Is it regions on the map or… my map seems to have all regions from what I can tell…
I think you can pick any of the regions on the map.
My recruiter texted to say congrats this afternoon and I told her about it… it was indeed a typo—map shows the regions that we are eligible for.
Hey guys, I have a question. If there are several regions that we absolutely DO NOT want, should we put them in the less preferred category or should we just not list them? Maybe this answer is obvious, but in the midst of my excitement I cannot find it.
@tfa2018hopeful I would simply not list them. The less preferred category is for regions that “you are less excited about…but still would consider joining the corps if placed here.”
@tfa2018hopeful I agree with @CEJ1989, I wouldn’t list any place you wouldn’t want to be.
Now that we have all started looking into regions, does anyone want to share their thoughts on where they may like to go?
Haha, I think I just made my list.
Highly Preferred: Philadelphia, Chicago, NYC, DC, Miami
Preferred: Detroit, Milwaukee, Baltimore, St. Louis, Cleveland
Less Preferred: Indianapolis, SW Ohio
Assuming I will get Chicago as they have more need than Philly and NYC and a high need for k-8! How much do you think they weigh the High Priority regions?
