For my second teacher recommendation, I’ve asked my 11th grade photography/advanced photography teacher who is also my humanities teacher this year (art history). So, I had her all of last year and now this year and I feel she knows me well and can add a different sort of perspective. Is this okay since she was a “non-academic” teacher last year for me, or should I go with a math/science teacher who does not know me as well (my other rec. is a very good one from my English teacher). BTW, photography is a passion of mine, though I’m not planning on focusing on art in college. Any thoughts??

I'd say yes. You want someone who can write the best things about you, where ever it may come from.

Another option is to get 2 "academic" recs and send in a supplemental rec from your photo teacher. You may want to go this route. I did with my coach / gym teacher.
