Teacher Recs - Guidelines set by each school

Is it imperative that we follow the guidelines for teacher recs set by the school you're applying to?

I'm applying to MSB, so the application says I should get a recommendation from a math or social science teacher.

However, I was going to ask one of my English teachers to write a rec for me. I've had this teacher for 3 years so she probably knows me better than any of my other teachers and I know she'd write me a stellar recommendation.

The app only asks for one teacher recommendation, but can I send 2? I'm just looking for a way to get in the rec from my English teacher. I really think it'd make a big difference for me.

Any advice would be appreciated.

You can send the english one but you also need the math/science one for obvious reasons. Business kids take calculus and they need to know you're up to it.

the form says math or social studies i believe. so i believe u fulfill the requirement with just a history teacher rec as well

You can definitely send 2 recs. I did that because two teachers knew me in very different ways: one personal, and one knew my academic strengths. If you believe it will help you then there is no harm in sending a second rec. Just don't do like some...when I visited American they said the most someone ever sent in was 40! haha
