I know the website says only one is required, but would additional recs help or irritate the admissions officers? Also, if I were to add an additional rec, would it matter if I got it from a social studies and an English teacher? Or would it be better to diversify and throw in a science or math?

I wrote this in 2007, before we added the teacher rec as a requirement, but it might help. To be frank, most recs are repetitive (all are positive). You don’t know to fill your file with them.

Thank you Dean J. I wish other schools also asked for only 1 teacher rec. I feel one is super strong, while the other is more generic and waters down the impression left by the good one.
