Hello College Confidential Posters,

My S is moving to Cromwell 5 at the end of August. Very excited. Do the residents have TV's in their rooms, and if so, what size are they typically? Do they ever have two sets? My S is an avid video game player so wondering. Also, is the TV service free?

Thank you,

Yeah, most people do have a tv; I didn’t, but I would guess the average size had around a 25-40" diagonal. But if you set up your room right, it’s possible to fit a much larger one. Most people had only 1 tv since there’s only 1 cable, unless you want to have one solely for video games. TV service is automatically included in your fees.

Yes the majority of people have a tv in their room. There is only one cable jack per room so you can only have one tv set per room. You are paying for it somewhere in the many fees they charge you (in other words it’s not like you would have to pay less if you did not bring a tv). The size is really a personal choice. I had a fairly small tv in my room but a lot of people had fairly larger sizes. Just keep in mind that the rooms are smaller than those in the Towers so don’t go crazy with the size lol. I lived in Cromwell last year and someone on my floor had brought a big, old tv that we hooked up in our floor lounge. Often I would walk past during the day and there’d be a group of guys playing video games.

Cromwell is awesome and not nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Your son will have a lot of fun and make lots of friends.
