Tell me about Summer@Brown and Great Books!

Hi guys,
I have a younger brother who is currently a high school freshman. He’s considering applying to either Summer@Brown or Great Books for this summer, probably for one of the two week programs. He’s interested in knowing, from a student’s perspective, what day-to-day life is like at one of those programs. He also wants to know what other people’s experiences were there and whether or not they would recommend either of these programs!

Thank you very much in advance! xx

Both my kids did Summer@Brown. One did “So You Think You Want to Be a Doctor?” She thought it was very helpful and she particularly enjoyed a shadowing opportunity with a neurologist. The program also included cadaver dissection and a good explanation of the process of becoming a doctor.

My other kid did a program on International Finance. She liked it and it helped her decide to apply to a business school.

Summer@Brown has a huge number of choices, so there is a class for most interests. I live in the area, if you have questions about Providence.

I don’t know anything about Great Books. It looks good, however.

@BelleofAmherst that’s good to hear! Thank you so much for your feedback
