Telluride Association Summer Program (TASP) 2013

For the part where it asks to list areas of intellectual interest, how should that be formatted? In a paragraph, just listing? Haha this may not be all that important, but I’m a little (just a bit) OCD.

Also, is it harmful to my application if I am generally more math science based in my extracurriculars and future goals and intellectual interests? TASP is obviously a humanities and arts program, but I’m still genuinely interested in applying for these seminars. Would my sciency-ness hurt my application?

Hey am I the only completely killing myself over these essays? For the past five days I’ve been running on 4-5 hours of sleep and 8 cups of black coffee a day (sugar, no cream). I drink four cups in the morning and four when i get back from school, to be fair I do mean cups in the sense of the actual measurement and not mugs haha…I’m not totally insane…yet…I might break tomorrow.

I want this so badly…

Out of curiosity, can some of you guys rank your preference order for seminars (haha that isn’t giving away to much info is it  )

Mine is actually just 1,2,3,4 haha…pretty simple. And I want to do Literature takes on Moral Complexity leagues beyond any of the others, though I would still love to do any.

8 cups of coffee? Dang. Haha, it shouldn’t really be that hard to write the essays. I mean I did some writing over break but even with all my ECs and AP/IB classes the essays aren’t really a problem if you take one day on the weekend and just dedicate the entire day to your essays. So get some sleep and push hard this weekend instead! I wish you the best of luck. :)

As far as the actual seminars go, I haven’t given too much thought to them but I do know that my first choice would be the Times Square one and and my last choice would be the Literature one, haha. Pretty indifferent about the others though at this point. :)

It has a lot to do with topic choosing more than actual writing. And then crazy nit picking once I do. And questioning my merit haha. Hmm that’s interesting though, why times square?

Wow, I’m so surprised that so many people enter for TASP~……Actually the essays are really killin’ me cuz I’m not keen on literature at all! So, obviously my topic preference is like 3,2,4,1.

I’m going to send mine! Wish me good luck! lol

Haha I find other peoples preference order so interesting. I guess since my preference order was so clear to me, I assumed that everyone would be doing the same order, it’s sort of comforting that we’re not all trying for the same seminars haha.

my seminar choices are 1, 2, 4, 3; I just sent in my application…now comes the anxious wait until march. Good luck to everyone!

Mine are 1,2,3,4 lol. I should be done with everything by tomorrow at the latest!
Good luck guys!

my choices are 1,3,2,4. I still haven’t finished my application, I’m planning on doing it this weekend along with all the other stuff I have to do for school. :(

Is it bad that I still have two essays to write?
Well, actually, no, don’t answer that.

How long have your essays been?

Most of mine have been pretty darn close to the word limit, especially the second one. But I expect the fifth and sixth essays to be significantly shorter, especially since the sixth one is in reality a list haha

Sent from my XT907 using CC

congrats those who have already done with their application! Good luck to you all! I’m still working on two more essays…I should have been more efficient over the break…but oh well i spent too much time on either school work or running around talking to people -__-

How many books are you listing?

I listed like 10-15. What awards did you guys flaunt?

Mostly my FBLA awards, I am really proud of those. They took work.

Just clicked submit. Crossing my fingers :)

Almost done omg…checking it over and editing all of my essays!

I’m a bit confused as to what the deadline is. Does this mean I can still work all day Monday on it, or my application must be done by Monday?

They’re due 11:59 pm EST on Monday
