Temple v. VCU - College Life and Pre-Med Program

Hi, I'm a senior and I've just applied to both Temple and VCU for Biochemistry and Biomedical Engineering. I have always loved Temple since I was a sophomore and visited the school numerous times. However, I have just recently learned more about VCU and went up for a visit as well. Both schools are extremely similar and contain exactly what I am looking for, such as Diversity and City Life. I have a high interest in both schools, but I don't know which one to choose.

If someone could give me some inside information on both schools, it would definitely help out with my decision! Also, how beneficial are their Pre-Med programs?

Thanks!

Are you in-state for either one? In the end, you’ll likely go to the cheapest - both are universities of a similar caliber and you’re right, they share quite a few characteristics.

Pre-med is often the same at the top 500 schools. It doesn’t really matter where you go as long as YOU earn high grades, prep and do well on the MCAT, get some research experience, and interview well. Both schools should make research possible if YOU get to the professors and volunteer to help early in your 4yrs. Both these schools also offer other majors in abundance in case, like most pre-meds, you change to another major. It’s all about you, frankly, and not so much the school. Will you be an honors student? Since med school will cost you a fortune, you will want to avoid as much debt as you can as an u/g. That might help you to decide which school to attend.
