Hi everyone.

I decided to go to the University of Miami, and after my first semester, things are not looking very good. 2 F's, a B, and an A. I won't get into why or how that happened, but it did.

I won't be going back to Miami, instead I'm going to enroll at my local community college (Washtenaw Community College) and try to transfer after a few semesters. I didn't expect myself to be in this situation, so I have some questions for you guys. Any advice is really appreciated.

1) I'm planning on taking 22 credits this semester, I'll be living at home, no distractions, so I think I can handle it. If I take 22 credits this semester, again for the spring/summer semester, and again for the fall semester, will I be able to take 66 credits to my new school? Is this at all possible and has it been done before? I know that at alot of places the more credits you have, the more focus is placed on your college transcript. If I manage a 3.8+ with those courses, would my Miami grades hold me back? Would HS grades still come into play? My HS GPA was a 3.5 and my ACT was a 33, just to get a general idea.

2) What schools would you guys say are realistic to shoot for as a transfer applicant? If I have, as I mentioned before, a 3.8+ from the CC, is it still possible to transfer to a pretty competitive school? Michigan would the real goal for me, but if there are any suggestions as to other schools, I'd love to hear them (I want to go for an Economics degree at wherever I end up, if that helps). I was deferred from UofM, waitlisted, and rejected last year.

Again, I'm in a pretty tough spot (not the end of the world, though) and I could use some advice. Your wisdom is much appreciated
