I have an upward trend in my gpa but my weighted at this point is 3.5…I saw the average for my high school was like a 4.2 however, I have a 1500 sat and 33 act which is a little bit higher than the average. I have decent extra curricular but just want a ball park estimation if I even should consider applying…I kinda feel down and out seeing that many colleges I’m looking has gpa’s that are miles above mine.
You are gonna need a good story on why your grades were low. Trending upward is great as it shows you are now focused and able to perform in tougher curriculum. I wouldn’t put too much into the SAT, I haven’t heard of a higher score doing much without the other stuff included.
You really need to get your GPA up in my opinion. I had a low SAT score 1080 and an ACT score of 26, but I had a 4.053 GPA. VT places more emphasis on the GPA, so see what you can do to raise it.
