Test Scores

I have two questions:

1) If I got the same composite score for two ACTs, but I did better in math/ science on one and better in reading/english on the other, should i send both?

2) What's the lowest possible SAT subject test i should apply with? I really wanted to apply early action, but I got a 620 and a 590....

Is 2280 good for EA?

What was your composite score on the ACT?

31 composite on both
E=35, M=28, R=33, S=26 (sent this one already)
E=34, M=31, R= 29, S=28

 • i plan on majoring in bio

Yeah I would, because of superscoring, and you would want to show them improvements in math and science based on your intended major

I don’t know if Princeton super-scores the ACT. If you have the money, you could send both scores in the hopes that they do super-score.

A word on applying early:

Successful applicants in the SCEA pool who are not recruited athletes, legacies, URM’s or developmental cases, generally have high stats, stellar recommendations, thought provoking essays and interesting EC’s. But, they also have something else – a “wow” factor. A wow-factor includes such things as Siemans and Intel, but it also can come from having a demonstrated passion, talent and track record in lots of other areas: Math, Science, Computer Science, Art, Music, Dance, Theater, Sports, etc. Whatever the area, you just go “Wow, that’s really impressive; not many other 17 to 18 year olds do THAT!”

Unless you have a “wow-factor”, with your test scores I would suggest that you apply to Princeton RD and apply early to a broad range of non-binding schools such as MIT, UChicago, Georgetown, your State School, etc. In that way you will hopefully have at least one acceptance in your back pocket come mid-December, and still have a shot at Princeton in the RD round. Good luck to you!
