Texas and Indiana as Safeties?

I don't know much about Texas and Indiana as safeties..but i really need safeties because I have everything else and i'm not sure about which safeties to choose at all..

I want to major in Finance/Economics
GPA: UW 3.8 W 4.1
SAT was really bad but retaking
SAT II pending
Long list of ECs
Am international but not applying for scholarships/finan aid.

Would they be safeties for me? Can you offer an other safety schools that would match?

if ur school does a class ranking u better be in top 10% for texas. out of state kids really need to be in top 10 for texas or they will have a slim chance of getting in (it is hard enough for instaters outside of top 10%). indiana is a better safety for u. texas is really a better school all around especially in engineering... business texas is probably a little better but iu has excellent business as well. however the avg. student at texas will have better stats than those for a hoosier.

So judging from my stats profile...and being international...do you have any suggestions for a safety other than Indiana?

Hard to say until we know your SAT scores. Give us your best estimate so we have something to work on. In any case, Texas McCombs is not a safety for you as you are not in-state.

so a safety as an international would be...?
Well my SAT score was 1750 first time :S.
But on practice tests i got 2100 ...i screwed up because i didn't time myself...and on test day..i was rushed...
But this time i'm practicing with time, learning from my mistakes..so hopefully...i'll get a 2000 +

even with that old sat score, indiana is still most likely a safety for you. not so much for texas, though.

Indiana is that easyyy!!!!???? i heard their business school was pretty good...can't be THAT easy rite?

oh, never mind, i didnt see that you were applying for business. in that case, iu is not a safety, but its still probably a match.

o..k...then can we apply undecided and transfer?
Can you give me some other good safeties? That's kind of my problem...not being able to find one lolz

IU is still a safety, you just won't be a direct admit to Kelley School of Business...you will just transfer in as a junior (95% of business students do). However, a direct admit is possible if you up the SAT score to a 1280.

I would also like to recommend UArizona and Arizona State as other "safety" options. They both have top-25 business programs, and a really easy to get into.

Indiana and/or Texas-Austin as safeties? What nonsense!

How bout Pepperdine? Or is it a medium Tier school?
