Texas schools mainly look @ Math & CR....but does the same thing apply for ACT? Do they only look at Math & Verbal?

On the ACT they have English, Math, Reading, Science, and Writing sections. Texas public schools look at everything but writing.

I asked this question recently to the tamu admission officer and they said "achieve a composite ACT score of at least 30 with a test score of at least 27 in ACT Math and ACT English."

so I am guessing its only the Math and English sections of the ACT

What are those scores that they said for... auto admit? B/c TAMU doesn't require you to score at least a 30 composite.

Those two are just the sections where they want you to score minimums on.

I asked them which sections of the ACT they look @ for the admission

this was my precise qs and their answer:

Most Texas schools only look at the CR and Math on the SAT. Is this also for the ACT? Does A&M mainly look at Math and English?

Thank you for your question and your interest in Texas A&M University. Texas A&M considers SAT Critical Reading and SAT Math scores. Normally high school students in the top 10% of their class are unconditionally admitted. Students qualifying for the academic admit status must achieve a combined SAT Math and SAT Critical Reading score of at least 1300 with a test score of at least 600 in each of these components; or achieve a composite ACT score of at least 30 with a test score of at least 27 in ACT Math and ACT English. Students must take the writing component of the SAT and/or ACT in order for the test score to be considered.
Those "academic admit" numbers are for auto-admit with A&M's top 25% rule... not admission in general.

The rule states that you receive either one of those minimum scores and be in the top 25% of your class and you are auto-admitted to A&M.

Ohh ok....gotcha
thx for clearing that out!
