Texas Tech Transfer Students Spring 2014

I am transferring to TTU Spring to major in Petro Eng. I am also new to Lubbock and moved from Houston.

Who else is transferring, and where at? I would love to make new friends at Tech!

I’m transferring there also, spring 2014 majoring in anthropology. never been to Lubbock before, so I’m a bit anxious

Where are you coming from? I’ve been living in Lubbock since August and had this semester off, especially since I am living off campus…had to bring my dogs!

Coming from Houston, I do love Lubbock because everything is so close, no traffic, and you do not waste any gas! The downside, there is no much to do, and I miss the awesome Mexican Restaurants back home!

What day is your RRO?

I’m coming from Ft. Worth. My RRO is January 13th. I’ve heard Lubbock is kind of dull in terms of stuff to do, but it doesn’t bother me much. All I need is a nice shopping mall and movie theatre and I’m set.

From Houston, we had so many malls including the Galleria. The mall here is well below average, and there is no outlet mall either like Premium Outlets :frowning: We do have two cinemarks, another movie theatre, and the best one of all, there is a really nice drive in! So yes it is really dull.

I heard the Depot District is where everyone goes, but I am not a clubbing kind of person!

Oh, and there are no good grocery stores whatsoever! I miss HEB! We shop at Walmart :/. The grocery stores here are overly priced!

My RRO is Jan 9th

I’ve always wanted to go to Houston’s galleria mall. Heard nothing but great things. Some day I will. How far is the depot district from campus?

You can go from one side of town to the other in 10 minutes no matter what time of day. Depot District is not even 5 minutes away from the school!
