when is the best time to buy textbooks?
right now or the week that classes start?

do we really need to buy all the book that are shown as required on the ucsb bookstore website?
what about the optional books?

I would recommend getting them now, so you can start reading and stuff

Honestly if you read ahead and know what the lecture is going to be about. you will have a much easier time.

Same if you take math classes, do all the problems before starting class and you will Ace everything since it will be review.

you can email the professor and ask him/her about it to make sure.

Before i started my first quarter here at UCSB last year, i decided to by all the books early. For one of my classes, I bought 2 copies of the same text. One of them was a “UCSB version” which was basically loose leafs, but they were listed seperately on the UCSBstuff website, and both were listed as “required” so i thought they were two different books =(

anyone in chemistry 1A next quarter? i bought the 5th edition rather than the 6th and am wondering if it would make that big of difference.
