When are we supposed to order our textbooks for summer and fall session? I know my schedule but dont have a clue what books to order or where to get them.

Don't get them until after the first class. I heard that from many, many students. Many professors change which textbooks they require and some don't use them at all (the kids buy einstein notes instead). You can get them at the UF bookstore for top dollar but there are many discounted bookstores that stock them.
Check out this subject on the UF student's live journal:

Does anybody have any online sites they would recommend for buying books that they have had good experience with? Are the book requirements listed on ISIS accurate?

half.com (10 chars)

We were told at Preview that if our child was getting Bright Futures, the $300 for books is automatically deferred to the UF bookstore. Does this mean that he is required to buy his books there, or is there any way to get around it and buy the books at other locations such as Half.com? Thanks

I don't remember them saying that...hopefully it's not true cause I just ordered a few books from half.com, I would assume it's not though as the UF bookstore is not the only place people buy books from, and if they did that all the non-campus bookstores would be screaming about it. Besides I know my brother is 100% bright futures and he was the one who told me to use half.com.

Does anyone know when all the book requirements will be listed on ISIS for the Fall semester?

kklicker, most of them should be listed by now. If not.. just wait.. there's still a while until the Fall semester =)

Has anyone else found that the professors listed the wrong ISBN? I had to do manual searching for a lot of the books I need (Microecon, Applied Calculus, etc). I'll post the correct ISBNs I found later today if anyone has the same classes as me.

ISBN---> commonly wrong,

reason: sometimes the UF BK store gets special combination packets that is only special to UF

soln: search on websites like www.campusi.com and search by the book title and edition

I made a list to keep track of the different online stores where you can purchase textbooks: http://ninjuh.tadalist.com/lists/public/326931
