Thank you notes

My dad, a Princeton grad, wrote me a supplementary rec for Princeton. Last week, he recieved a signed note for the dean of admissions thanking him for his "good letter" and letting him know that decisions will we sent out in mid-december.

Is this normal, for Princeton to send out thank you notes to people that wrote reccomendations? Is it simply because he is an alumus? Is this a good sign for me?

It cant be a bad sign...

Danman, are you on the ED list? We only need a couple more for 100! If you did go ED to Princeton and you're not on the list, sign yourself up!

lol jon. ~

wow, you had your dad write you a letter?

no my mom got one of those letters as well (she is not a princeton alumnus) for writing a supplementary rec.

haha poo my dad never got one and he wrote me one.

what do those letters say? I wondering if my boss received one (he never mentioned it)

none of my teachers ever received them either.
I did hear a few people on this forum mention in another thread that some of their teachers got one.

hm.. i didn't know about this :</p>

those exact words: "good letter" ?

schools ALWAYS write thank you notes to alumni who write recommendations. they want to make sure that the people who give them money feel special. so I wouldn't analyze this too much, although i am VERY jealous of your legacy status.

do they send letters to important people such as a head of a national organization? or only to alumi?
