Thanksgiving break

Hi everyone! it has been a while since i posted but alas, i have a question that is similar to another post about thanskgiving break, but mine is more general.

This Thanksgiving, i am going to Greece to visit my sister as she is studying there for the fall. Thanksgiving break is more or less 5 days and I really don't feel like going to Greece for just 5 days. I thought a week would be the best because i am using my skymiles/summer money for the airfare and I want to get a bang for my buck (even though the US dollar is complete crap, i can stil l try :) )

So...in general, I don't know if it is OK if i can skip class? Skip a day before and a day after break? Or 2 days at the end? Or....anything at all. My sister said she really never skipped classes until her sophomore year, and she doesn't go to Cornell so she isn't much help.

FYI I'm in the Hotel School. Any help is appreciated :)

It's completely up to you really. Personally, I would take off for the two days before the break begins because after the break is over, many professors start to begin teaching new concepts, etc. but then again I'm an engineer and I have no experience with hotel classes.

talk to your professors about 2-3 weeks before thanksgiving...if you have papers or presentations see if you can make them up earlier or after...

hahah just like middle school. ok thank you :)

I think most professors would be fine with it especially because you are going to see your sister compared to going home to sit around for two extra days.
