i got a green slip from a site called "college for all texans" this spring. it said that if i was in top 10 percent and go to a texas public college, i cant get $2000

did anyone else got this too? do i need to mail in any other application or document to get it? when will i get the money?

My freshman year we made a huge error on the FAFSA, and our EFC was about about 10k over the COA. However, now it is lower than the COA, and I do receive subsidized loans, etc. So I “qualify for financial aid” now, but I didn’t my freshman year (even though I should have been). I’m guessing that ends up screwing me up.

I got a top ten percent scholarship given by UT. I applied right before the deadline to apply to UT for scholarships – Dec 1st so maybe that was it?

I never saw the likes of it; got automatically applied to my tuition, but nice regardless.

The Texas Top 10 % Scholarship is awarded by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (not UT). The first year it was offered was 09-10. To qualify, students must be included on a list that the HS counselor sends to the THECB (top 10% in a Texas Distinguished or Recommended graduation program by 6th semester), have a processed FAFSA/TASFA by March 1, and have at least $1.00 in “need” (COA minus EFC). The full $2000 is applied to the fall.
For renewal, students must complete 30 hrs during the academic year, have a 75% completion rate, and a gpa of at least 3.25.

i emailed the website for the scholarship yesterday, and they told me that ask UT financial aid office about it. And like people said above, I’m thinking i’m not getting it because my financial aid does not qualify :P
