I am in the top 5% of my class, but on my financial aid package the Top 10% scholarship was not offered. Will it show up later or should it already be on there? I am worried that I will not receive it but I did all of the necessary things (Submitted FAFSA before Mar. 31.) I do have a financial need based on my EFC so I do not understand why this scholarship was not awarded to me. However, on my financial aid package from A&M, it was on there. I am confused and worried.

I think that when you are billed for your fall semester classes, that scholarship will be subtracted from your bill.

That’s weird because it showed up on my financial aid package for me.

Yeah one of my friends said it also showed up on his financial aid package. Should I call the financial aid office and ask them or should I wait to find out? I’m afraid that if I wait then it won’t be awarded to me. I can’t believe this type of problem even occurs with a top university like UT.

Anyone else have any advice on this issue?

It does not hurt to call. The people in the osfs are good at that kind of stuff, just give them your eid.

Just fyi, I called OSFS and (after being on hold for a longggg time) they told me that its because the transcript I sent in with my application said that I would be graduating in summer. My plans have changed because I took a credit by correspondence, so I’ll be graduating in the spring, so i just have to send in an updated transcript in order to have that added on there. This probably isn’t what happend to you, but just for future reference, they won’t give you the scholarship if you’re not graduating in spring.

i think that scholarship is need based only. i know plenty of top 1% kids who didnt get it and some lower percentages that did

i got the scholarship for fall semester
