Hey i am having a lot of trouble figuring this out. Basically, i want to major in buisness and i am looking for a school that has a great academic reputation but yet also a partying reputation. Like a student body who knows how to work hard, play hard. Besides the ivy league schools what other colleges do you guys suggest?

^Only Penn/Cornell has business.

With that said…
Stanford, Duke, Rice, Gtown, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, UCLA, UVa, UMich, UNC, BC

I’d add USC to that list

vinn what do you mean only Penn/cornell has business?

I’d also add UT to the vinnyli’s list

Wisconsin…

Wake Forest.

Stanford does not do undergrad biz.

Wisconsin by far.

Out of the 8 Ivies these two are the only ones that have undergrad biz.

Stanford and Notre Dame are tops.

definitely consider USC

prestigious business program + incredible connections + hot girls

Boston College matches what you’re looking for

Regarding usc, i heard the administration is shaping the school to lean torwards buliding a better academic reputation and less partying and such. As for UCLA im not sure if they are known for buisiness majors.

Penn and Cornell within the Ivy League to be sure. By that it is meant that those are the only 2 Ivies that have undergraduate business programs. Both are also good for partying

UC Santa Barbara!!!
nuff said

I second Wake Forest. Calloway (the UG business school) has a great reputation and got the #1 academic business quality by Business Week.

Hahaha, what a total joke. Dude, I grew up in West Los Angeles and everyone knows USC is one of the biggest party schools in CA, along with UCSB. However, USC academics are top 26 in the nation, so you get the academics of UCLA with the parties of UCSB. That’s not going to change for a very long time. The administration “cracking down” is basically just eliminating pre-rush; it’s a publicity stunt. I didn’t think anyone actually believed that until I read your post. Trust me, USC is a big party school.

Most people who I know attend USC do so because they either:

Want to party big time along with USC’s amazing football team.

Want to get in with business elite of Southern California.

Want to get big in Hollywood or Music or TV (acting or directing or producing etc) / making connections.

Even if they do “crack down” (lol) you’re still getting a bigger party atmosphere than at Cal or UCLA.

i agree with flyingllama
USC is a big party school
but im going to UCSB so im sticking with my choice.
UCSB’s education is pretty good in the Engineering/Economics region.

I’m sorry, I just find that funny. Not top 25 or top 30, but top 26. So precise.

I’ll add one more
4. Parents leaned heavily on them to go there.

haha wait seriously? I haven’t seen much of that but ok…
