Although this thread has undoubtably been started before, I was wondering what people's opinions are on the difficulty of the two tests and how different people like the two tests' formats.

Yeah, I'm interested in knowing that too. Which one has a more difficult level of questions?

I think the SAT is tricker, but the ACT is harder, in terms of concepts. SAT is longer, which can fatigue many.

It depends on the person of course, but the ACT was much easier for me. I took a PR course for the SAT and I did ok. However, even with the course, the SAT is very tricky and long. I've never liked the SAT because it's so...mean! Ha, however, the ACT I love. It's not much shorter, but it's very straightforward. The concepts are easier to understand and the test is not tricking you (but the science part is insanely difficut). I did much better on the ACT than on the SAT, with no course!

The Science Section you either get, or you don't. The first time I took it, I just didn't get it (26). The second time, I did (34). I'd say it's the most variable section in the ACT/SAT Reasoning.

I hear the ACT is a lot more straightforward, based more on what you've actually learned in school than how well you take a highly unrealistic test (which is the SAT!).

I like the SAT and find it easier. I have never understood the idea that the ACT is more straightforward and the SAT is trickier. I haven't found that the SAT tries to trip you up at all. I guess I might feel this way because my major shortcoming is in the area of Math, which is easier on the SAT.
