^ I felt that same way haha and told myself I would not go on this thread b/c I will drive myself insane.

Too late.

^ I felt that same way haha and told myself I would not go on this thread b/c I will drive myself insane.

Too late.

Exactly the same here. Everybody I took it with was like “that was so hard!” and these guys are all like “that was so easy!” and I’m like “agh who do I believe!?”

EDIT: Apparently acronyms are curse words…

I’m just happy I didn’t blank out and had some idea (albeit somewhat vague) of what I was going to write about. I remember for APUSH last year, I spent 10 minutes in shock-mode with my head just pulsating b/c of the DBQ. I was beating up myself over it for the next 2 months.

It’s strange how people in my school found it pretty easy - b/c a lot of these sophomores (no offense) aren’t the brightest in the bunch and we had a pretty horrible teacher. Note a lot of these sophomore were taking an AP for the first time, but they felt like that they did well, which I thought was weird.

I think I was expecting something A LOT harder and completely unexpected.

You’re on CC already. Your score is already a point higher than it would be if you weren’t on CC (a scientifically proven fact).

Seriously, though, you guys probably got 4’s or 5’s.

exactly the same- this thread has diminished my certainty…no wait, hopes of getting a 5. hope we all did well :)

“I think I was expecting something A LOT harder and completely unexpected.”

agreed. i was nervous in the beginning (for some reason I could not think and had trouble with the first few MCs), which freaked me out for a minute, but then it went away and I sailed through it. I should probably abandon this thread though… gotta worry about Euro now. and an english project… the main problem is that july seemed soooooo far away when the proctor read the scores will be returned then. sigh

easier than expected
am glad. i doubt i got a 5 though.

I wrote a very convincing diatribe against the Tea Party covering an entire extra page of the FRQ. Took me roughly 15 minutes to cross it out lightly.

I also caught a quick power nap for the last 20 minutes of MC.

Ooh, well aren’t you a little rebel. You tell them stupid, racist wingnuts.
/sarc

scrivener, I hope you wrote in erasable PEN!

I had about 30 minutes left…I was on the last question when the proctor suggested we move to question 2. I filled up nearly a page for each question too. At the end I did some calculus practice (skipped a few blank pages) and sharpened up my binary skills. Thereby, I mean writing that I finished 30 minutes early in binary. ^_^

I took the exam last year. No studying at all with a terrible teacher who never taught us anything…

The entire class of us sophmores (last year) finished with 40 mins left.
In fact when I saw there was 40 mins left I laughed.

Gov is the easiest ap exam you will take in high school.
I got a 5…

Good to see that a junior can tell us what the easiest AP exam is…anyways, the term ‘easy’ is a highly relative term as you clearly had to know something coming into the exam (even assuming that your teacher ‘taught you nothing’) in order to call it ‘easy.’ Nearly 90% of the people taking the test don’t get 5’s. In fact, the mean score is a 2.68; meaning that a majority fail the test (a 3 is passing). While you may say that the average aptitude of students taking the test might necessarily be lower than those taking other exams and that can account for the number of people who fail, it serves to show that the test is not ‘easy’ to everyone and to claim that the test is something that can be done with only intuitive knowledge is preposterous. The reason that many on here find it ‘so easy’ is that the subject-matter of the course isn’t that difficult because many of us have some semblance of knowledge of domestic current affairs and thus can better understand some of the topics (as well as the fact that the amount of content covered by the exam isn’t that much). Of course, this is a fairly short and not wholly complete argument and, thus, you may appear to believe it to be false. However, since many on this thread are clearly intelligent, I trust that my argument can be inferred.

Anyways, why did you have to bother coming to tell us that? I fail to see a reasoning behind your post besides gloating that you got a 5 without studying at all (something that you apparently shouldn’t be proud of because 'the test is so easy - woe, contradiction, woe).

So, we’ll start discussing the answers to the FRQ’s tomorrow?

I took it first semester and haven’t studied since. I thought it was really easy.
So I either did great or horribly. Hoping its the former

I finished an hour early so slept haha

The purpose of my post was to repond to all the hatred on sophmores in the previous page who took the exam…

Thanks for responding though

Have a nice day.

That 2.68 is a reflection of many external factors. I went into the exam last year with that same mindset.

I don’t want to insult anyone… but I’m pretty sure many of you know what I mean when I say

for people who live in the NE, the exam was incredibly easy.

*Though AP Physics has 30% of kids getting 5’s… who in there right mind would say Gov was more challening because of a low Mean score…?

Um. I don’t think that he meant to imply that ALL sophomores are idiots, just the ones that were taking the gov tests.

And, yes, why don’t you exaggerate some more? You did not finish an hour early. If you did, then you managed to write 4 quality essays in 20 minutes (5 minutes per essay) and most likely failed.

I’m not exaggerating by any means. Go to collegeboard and check out the FR’s from last year compared to the year before that…

You will laugh at how easy my test was.

Essays? LMAO… All you have to do is answer the question, and provide an example. In fact PR encourages you to make up examples.

5 thoughtful sentences written in 5 mins is more than enough…

not really essays, more like a few glorified sentences

the proctor actually wrote the wrong start time on the board so i thought it was super behind. wrote so fast i got hand cramps. and then i realized i still had an hour to go lol (maybe it was 50 mins) still wrote about nine pages

I’m with motion’s reasoning, but themeaningoflife has a point. I took the 2009 exam for my mock test and finished the MC in 20 min and the FRQs in 20 min. I worked nonstop without breaks. Needless to say, my raw score was 112/120.

The test this year was significantly harder though, so comparing 2009’s exam to this year’s is ludicrous.

@PandoraHearts
Thank you my friend…

There you go… another person who feels confident and finished with an hour left…

@Skateme
Yeah i figured. They made the exam really easy for us, becuase in the year prior to mine, kids messed up on the FR dealing with economics.
This impacted their score greatly

Yeah I’m not really trying to argue or bash the ap exam… but come on guys you have to admit… Gov is not that challenging

Especially since in alot of schools the class is taken by sophmores…

Yeah this year’s exam was significantly harder than last years; I took the 2009 test as a practice test in full, without studying, and this year’s test with studying, and I had a lot more issues with this year’s test.
