Hi everyone!

Last year, I got waitlisted at NYU and was really bummed out but I decided to apply again this year as a transfer student and I got in! Only, I would be happier if I had actually gotten real financial aid. NYU gave me a ton of loans...@_@ ($20,000+ worth of them) and having already taken a lot of loans at the school I go to now, ($13,500)...I'm not looking to borrow any more loans! I plan on becoming an international doctor and I'm not doing it for the money (most international doctors usually don't make that much anyways) so I also wouldn't be able to pay back all my loans if I were to borrow any more. I applied to NYU's Global Institute of Public Health and i really want to go since it'll help out with my global health aspirations but with the financial package I have now...it's impossible!!!!
I already wrote a letter of appeal and they flat out said and I quote verbatim "scholarship opportunities for transfer students are rate"....they couldn't even spell rare right. >.>

BUT I don't want to give up! I get the maximum from TAP/FAFSA and i truly do believe there must be some help NYU can give from their gargantuan-sized pool of endowment funds.

Do you guys know any special scholarships at NYU that I could apply to or any other methods of appeal i could try? I haven't gone to see them in person or talk to them on the phone...should I do that too?

Thanks!
