<p>So...What'd you put in the box?</p>
<p>I know it's been done -- but there are people posting all over ID that haven't said...</p>
<p>I put a minaturized version of our school's paper (I'm the co-editor-in-chief, and I think I want to go into journalism). You couldn't read anything except the headlines, but it was really cool-looking!</p>
<p>I just wrote "Smile =)" in the middle of the box. Afterall, if a small smile can light up a room, it can surely fill a box.</p>

<p>i feel so unoriginal... oh well, doesn't matter now.</p>

<p>haha okay so I seriously drew a picture of an iPod the day before I had to mail in my application. And I'm a terrible drawer. But I figured, I honestly don't think I'd be able to live without music, whether it be sweet non-classical music I listen to or my violin, so it made sense to me. After I read about everyone else's amazing boxes though, I thought I was going to get rejected for it haha. Guess I got lucky...</p>
<p>I originally drew a bowl of rice as a joke (yeah I'm Chinese, I love food, and Rice University... haha I thought it was funny) but when I told my friends, they were like, "NO you can't do that." haha oh well... I wonder if it would've changed anything.</p>

<p>yen06, I heard from a Rice rep that while the box is supposed to be a creative work without set parameters, the one thing they don't want to see is a bowl of rice or grains of rice. They say it's trite, not funny, and at one point caused a rodent problem in the admissions office...</p>

I was responding to JimmyEatWorld's comment that it would've been a bad idea to draw a bowl of rice, like I originally wanted to.</p>
