a picture of a hand, drawing a hand, drawing a hand, drawing a hand.

a picuture of a guy running... underneath, i wrote "running = life"

seph: that's very mc escher....and every difficult!

yup!

I was studying him this year and created a piece in his style. It went into my MIT essay. This is the basic description:

The drawings details were as such. A hand with a pencil was to be in the bottom right of the work, with a piece of paper that it was drawing on. In the piece of paper in my work was a self portrait of me with my brows furrowed, eyes closed, with my left hand massaging the left side of my face expressing weariness and frustration, which was further shown by my right hand in the mid-bottom left of the work that had point marks from the tapping of my self portraits pencil. The light source was a single desk light situated on the top left of the work outside of the paper inside the work, but the shading for paper inside my work as well as the drawing hand came from the desk light, which combined the images into one and created a minor optical illusion.

*I couldn't come up with a thing for about.... a week and 20 hrs, and did a picture of me not coming up with a thing.

i love MC escher

OK, I folded a piece of paper into the box in this oragami, fold out thing. I stuck an owl sticker (horray for babysitting a kid with an owl sticker!) on the edge and wrote "13 ways of looking at a box. Inspired by the poem 13 ways of looking at a blackbird". When you folded it out, each fold was a different box and said it can ____. Like one had an Xbox and said it can entertain you, one had a ring box and said it can hold your future. One had a boxing ring and said it can hurt you. one had a copy of the box question and said it can get you into college. anyway, the last one just had a bold black box and along the inside edge running into the outside edge it said " it can do a lot, but a box can't do much for you until you've gone outside it" or something like that.
I worked a long time on it because whenever my mom would make me work on my application and I felt like slacking off, I would draw on it

your box sounds amazing!
goodluck on admissions if you haven't heard yet!

My family does foster care so we have had a bunch of children live with us for the past 8 years and about 5 years ago we made it a tradition to take a family picture the day after Thanksgiving with who ever eat Thanksgiving dinner with us. This includes the foster kids we had in our house at the time, friends, neighbors, and any one else who eat dinner with us.

So in my box I made a flip book of the different years pictures so they could see all the different people in each picture.

i just made a hodge podge of randomness....andrew lloyd webber plays, physics, math, french stuff, indian/bollywood stuff, indiana jones....

wow that fold out origamy sounds pretty cool

I print-screened my bookmarks on my web browser and pasted on the box as like a fold out thing to emulate the dropping down of a menu.

speaking of the hand drawing the hand drawing the hand...that was the escher work I put in my box :D

XD guess I'm going to be rejected then :D

oh my god y'all have good boxes.

yes. it is incredibly corny. but really, i couldn't help it.

I just took a snapshot of my desktop...

So many people made intricate and complex things... I almost feel bad that I didn't do anything...

DD put in a swatch of fabric. That's it. She got in with a merit scholarship.... I don't think it matters all that much.

basically mine.
http://photobucket.com/albums/e341/rokman54/?action=view¤t=asdf.jpg

wow. I put a really cute picture of puppy kissing a kitten. It was suppose to represent two creatures who are usually hostile toward each other coming together in harmony. I don't think any one would get that though... The admins probably just though I'm a girly girl... haha o well

wow, I didn't know that the box was THIS important... I just thought it would be used for application confirmation or something like that. Fortunately, to be on the safe side I put a picture that represented my personality.
