My son also really enjoyed his four years in Cleveland. Its a medium sized city, so much smaller than Chicago or NYC
and less intimidating than these larger US cities. Things to do in Cleveland: , a student can go apple picking, about ten miles from campus then go for a discount concert ticket at the Cleveland Orchestra on the same weekend day! Students can go to a sports bar in Cleveland and catch a good sports event, even if they don’t actually go to the Cavs game, (winning Cleveland basketball team) the spirit is permeating campus, for Cleveland professional sports teams. There is actual city life for students, so dance clubs, and that whole scene for those that want city life. OR one can stay safely ensconced in University Circle, and go to local parties, events, lectures, etc.
Its pretty easy to keep a car on campus in the upper class years, most freshman do not bring cars, and one
can get around find without a car.
The public transportation, both bus and above ground trains are safe, to and from the airport, with a stop near CWRU.
The Healthline Bus is part of the student fees, so students can ride a public bus past to the Lake Front to enjoy some city life too.
Off campus housing is less expensive than other cities. CWRU often live in the Coventry neighborhood, to the east
of campus, and can walk or bus to campus, or to a summer job in Cleveland.
There are jobs in Cleveland, in many fields, such as computer science, economics, math, engineering , nursing, etc.
There are girls to date on campus, for boys and visa versa, the gender balance is close to 50-50.
Greek life at CWRU is mellow, some service oriented, some frats are party oriented. Often students not in the Greek system date someone in the Greek system, so the parties end up being pretty open.
