"The Committe Has Acted On Your Application And Have Mailed..."

I don’t recall the status change meaning anything in the past, but we never saw this status so early.

Throwback!

In the 2008, 2009, and (I think) 2010 cycles, the “acted on…” status was an indicator that an acceptance package was on its way.

In 2011- 2013, possibly in response to the wild status-check frenzy that occurred, the status changes were limited to requests for midyear grades or missing materials.

Over those years posters discovered various ways to see their result before the package arrived from the “caravan link” of the 2008, 2009 and 2010 cycle to the ability to log into Explore and reserve a scholarship interview date (this happened last year, but was shut down when admissions got wind of it).

In all of those years if the “acted on…” status appeared a packet arrived within 2 to 5 days. At this point in the cycle, that means a scholarship interview or, as happened year before last, the possibility of a Dean’s scholarship w/o interview.

Hopefully that clears things up a bit!

It seems weird that not one person has posted an acceptance letter by now - even though these posts have been viewed thousands of times.

Hey guys, I got the updated message, and I just got my admissions packet in the mail.

@Shutter
Do you live in the LA area?

What did you apply to and where did you get in? And CONGRATS!

@shutter Congrats!!!

@2018dad
Yes, I live in Southern California.

@2018eastorwest
I applied to Viterbi Engineering.

@InTermsOf
Thanks!

My D’s status has changed to the “committee had acted and mailed” status, and we are up in norcal–have to wait and see if it comes Monday. Cautiously optimistic!!

If anyone gets a packet without getting a change in status speak up.

@shutter Congrats!, did you also get invited for interview, or is there any mention of scholarships?

Cavmom!!! Sooooo exciting! (Everyone’s news is exciting, but Cavmom has been around the forum for a couple of years, so I had fingers on BOTH hands crossed for her daughter.)

Shutter - CONGRATS on being admitted and being the FIRST to post this year!!!

Shutter- Congrats! Did it mention a scholarship? Cavmom, fingers crossed!!!

Thanks alamemom! Yes, I am an old-timer! My son will be graduating USC Viterbi this year…he did not receive any scholarship money,for him we just heard in March…and by the way, everyone’s comments are so helpful, I knew EXACTLY when to expect the packet! I was watching for the mailman! So, this excitement is all new to me! You better believe that I will be watching out my kitchen window for the mailman on Monday!

^^ 2 of the 3 on the stats thread so far have had mention of a scholarship (one trustee, one Trustee/Mork/Stamps). Shutter has not yet heard about scholarships. 2 of them mention a status change this morning (to “acted on…”) and the other did not mention status.

EXCITING!

Does anyone have an idea how long it took the letters to get from SoCal to the east coast in the past?

@alamemom
Thank you! Glad I got to be the first one.

@Cavmom
No mention of anything regarding the scholarships. Maybe they’ll follow up with an email.

biomedhopeful, usually it takes priority mails 2-3 days if nothing goes wrong.

Great thanks! @InTermsOf

So does the status change in the portal happen all at once for everyone who’s being invited to interview for a scholarship? Or does it happen in waves? Will there be more of them happening in the next several days? Or should we assume that since my daughter’s did not change today, she is out of the running for the scholarships?
