Early Decision I and Early Decision II: What’s The Difference?The biggest difference between ED I and ED II is the timing. ED I applications were due back in November, with students typically finding out the admission decision in December. ED II deadlines are in January, with an admissions notification date of February.

Regardless of whether you applied ED I or ED II, the decisions are binding: If accepted, you are obligated to attend and must send in your enrollment deposit within two weeks.
