Anthro 7 is easier.

anthro 7... heck yes. specially with manson.

i literally NEVER set foot in the lecture hall (opted to watch them online, on my own time and in less time, instead). i also skipped a third of my discussion sections, therefore not turning in all of my homework.

...and i got the easiest A of my college life. woot! :D

great thread!

hey for fall quarter, astro 3 is being taught by "staff"...when will we know who is actually teaching the class?
any recs for physical science lab ge requirement?

Psych 127 isn't very difficult

Has anyone heard of Psych M127?

Any easy upper div GEs?

any opinion on philos 22 with lawrence?

It just depends in regards to THE STAFF question. I remember Corbin was listed as STAFF until about a month before registration for Spring Quarter. I'm waiting for the professor for History 1C but ah, no cigar...

Fall just short of a successful outcome and get nothing for your efforts.

Origin

The phrase, and its variant 'nice try, but no cigar', are of US origin and date from the mid-20th century. Fairground stalls gave out cigars as prizes, and this is the most likely source, although there's no definitive evidence to prove that.

It is first recorded in print in Sayre and Twist's publishing of the script of the 1935 film version of Annie Oakley:

"Close, Colonel, but no cigar!"

It appears in U. S. newspapers widely from around 1949 onwards. For example, a story from The Lima News, Lima, Ohio, November 1949, where The Lima House Cigar and Sporting Goods Store narrowly avoided being burned down in a fire, was titled 'Close But No Cigar'.

I'm not a psych major. That course isn't hard at all. Midterms and final are just multiple choices and questions are quite straightforward. I didn't even go to lectures, cuz you can get all the stuff from the textbook.

The name of the course is just Psych 127.

Psych 115 is another easier UD GEs. I also recommend you A&O 104 with Canty.

My friend said econ 107 was quite easy.

Other CCers in here said World Art 100A was easy too. I don't choose it because I don't want to spend time on essay writing. I'm such a lazy a**.

Anybody recommend any easy GE classes for incoming freshman? (especially as alot of as are attending orientation and getting ready to choose classes)

Particularly any easy GE's to go with harder classes?

how is ESS Sci 8 with Moore?

PSYCH 129E with Abramson. Easy???

No matter how easy a class is, it gets increasingly difficult if you don't like the subject matter. Taking a class just because it's easy though you may not like the subject will be 10x harder than taking a slightly more challenging class in an area you really want to learn about.

I took two classes: marine biology and astronomy. Noth considered easy GE classes. I got over 100% in my marine bio class and I am struggling to keep up in my astronomy class. Why? Because I LOVE marine biology and marine mammals and I find the cosmos very boring. But I need the class and I'm already in it, now I have to suffer through it.

I concur with the post above me. So far my "easy GE" classes (ones which almost always put me to sleep) have actually been my lowest grades so far. For example, I got a C in phy sci 5, which I was really upset about but I think I deserved it considering I never went to class, did the project the morning of, and studied for the midterm and final the night before the tests (I was plegding =X). In general, though, I think there are much easier classes than phy sci 5. If you thought AP Bio was relatively easy, phy sci should be easy... if you thought it was really hard like I did, phy sci probably won't be that easy. When I took phy sci the final grade breakdown was 22 A+'s, 39 A's, 37 A-'s, 31 B+'s, 36 B's, 47 B-'s, 40 C+'s, 66 (yes, SIXTY SIX) C's, 23 C-'s, 14 D's and 5 F's. I think that's pretty good evidence that phy sci isn't really THAT easy.

I would highly recommended taking Philosophy 22w with Herman for a writing II class. It wasn't an "easy GE" but was my all-time favorite class as a first year. Very stimulating lectures that really made me think. What royally sucked though was that I ended up with an A- (92.5%) in the class, but the cut-off for an A was 93.2. Oh well it was still well worth my time.

any coments on ess 15 w/ kyte?
