The Hindustani College Admissions Thread #20

tiyas: yes they did promise that, but they cheated on us!!! No international student has received an email! :frowning: We have to wait for the courier (FEdEx in Swat’s case), and this is unfair because they promised that they’d email internationals.

Puttu: I expect that I’ll stay up! I remember waiting for Yale SCEA was so much fun on CC! It was awesome. But that maybe because I wasn’t shivering and biting my nails in fear/anticipation.
Seeing the way headaches have been hitting me all the time whenever I sit on my laptop, I don’t know for sure… But I probably will brave it through. ;)

No staying up for me. Maths boards soon after. And I just don’t want the Wellesley saga re-enacted. I stayed up and everything…and then…well…

Yeah, I get what you’re saying. Rejections hurt. I wasn’t disappointed by Wellesley’s though because I had just heard some even more disappointing news to do with my personal life so Wellesley’s wait list wasn’t such a big deal any more. WOW school ends so early for you! What did you do from then till now? You’re staying up Pixie? Waiting with you guys might be fun but it’s 5am in the morning when the decisions come out and I couldn’t stay up all night, esp since we’ll be partying in school the next day. I got up early for Wellesley and I was plagued with college-related dreams all night. hahaha btw where is collegebeckons? I want to recommend some good romances to her.

^I’d love to have some names.
Although I have a list of 100 books that I have to finish in April, and probably won’t touch anything till then…out with the names Puttu!

Good lord. I think I’ve bitten off more than what I can chew with all my plans for April.

IML-It’s to cushion the inevitable blow. Don’t worry, I’m not sorry and depressed about it! I knew from the time I applied that it was long shot (a very, very, VERY long one). I just want the finality of the decision. I know I won’t be broody and quiet like after Wellesley decisions.
Pixie-Right back atcha  Haha well a (supposedly) good essay isn’t gonna sail me through admissions is it? I’m glad they got to read it though. Hope they liked it.
It’s only gonna be 11 here and I never fall asleep before that anyway so I will be up.
Puttu-What I wouldn’t give to have my IB exam now and over and done with.

Pixie, I meant the et tu part for getting the 500th post… I wanted it :frowning: I have no idea what you thought I meant though  Also, here’s my sad Swat rejection story

thinks Swat sends decision through mail

is just chilling on the internetz at 2:00am, as holidays are going on

see in my sidebar a notification that I got an email from Swarthmore

since it comes on my opera mail, it has already been downloaded and opens in a microsecond

did not have the chance to even wonder what the email was about, forget wonder if i’ll get in or not :(

[obviously that email was my rejection]

Goodwood, it’s obvious that you still like the school a lot , but look on the brighter side, you still have uchicago, which is the bigger twin of Swat! I mean, one who’s happy at one, should be happy at the other, no problem! Tbh, I think that they are both so so similar. I would have loved to be at either. They both boast of exactly the same things as their strengths, except uchicago is bigger, which I personally consider to be an advantage…you have bigger selection of course offerings, more people to meet…If you still pine for Swat by the end of first year at UofC (which I highly doubt, a person like you should love uchicago once he has spent time there), then you could try for a transfer. :)

But at least you got the frickin’ email! We RDers otoh are waiting in painful suspense.
Oh and by that “et tu” post, I thought you meant that I was yet another person saying that merit FA is already done with.

hey,
just called up swat office, emails shall go out tomorrow.
Good luck!

I just read Harvard needs you to sign up to get an e-mail decision… otherwise you have to wait for the regular mail or call up. oh god, I did not register myself. I am going to cry.

haha everyone knows about it
Its what USC is famous for.

And this is a comp nube question.
How exactly do you take a screen shot??
I’m pressing the print sc button but nothing seems to be happening.

alt+print sc button

anyways what order are you people planning on checking your decision?

Oh great CMU CIT ECE Accepted! Congratulations to all the others who got in too! Those who couldnt, dont worry the process is quite random, you’re bound to get very lucky soon if you’re already not been so :D

@chelsea: USC is famous for what ??

cmd + shift + 3

Damn mysticgohan! Caltech and ECE! you must one insanely smart guy! respect.

Nah its nothing like that Prabhu. What about you? Did you apply to CMU?

Yea I did. Waitlisted ECE and accepted MCS.

I know you by name, VPrabhu. Ex-student of my current school.

Mystic also got into Cambridge, ICL and whatnot :P

what is your current school aniruddh? although the world is a very small place, i think you are mistaken

Seriously guys, US admissions are all about luck. MCS is fantastic Prabhu! Whoa looks like you guys might know each other eh? ;)
