I’m not bad at statistics, but the class is really TOO easy - some kids in my class are dumb and don’t know how to use lists on calculators and yeah - i just liked ap calculus a lot better :(

If you think Stats is hard you’re definitely overthinking it. It was a common problem in our class last year - the concepts are very basic. People tend to overthink them or look to far into them though.

My Stats class has too many trick questions. I’m not even sure how it works. For example, we had a bar graph of percentage of satisfaction of owners or whatever. Well the image was really blurry, but the middle bar was WAY higher than others, so I selected the multiple choice answer that reflected that. Apparently the little labels on the y-axis (that you can’t read) said 95% to 98% or something, so the scale was distorted and I got the question wrong. What the heck? That’s not even a fair way to make a question tricky…

Haha, Stats was one of my favorite classes last year, since I had a great teacher and it was easy too lol

I actually love Stats, except that it is way too easy and most of the people in the class are slackers.

Stats is killing my school this year.
Total blow-off last year.
Then we got a new teacher.
And now it’s actually pretty difficult.
I personally am making a 100, but that’s the highest grade by like 6 points.
And that’s a HUGE gap at my school.
It’s ridiculous.

I can’t even believe I have an 87% in this class. I am officially ashamed. It is so easy. How do I fudge up the stupidest crap?

agree. after BC its a breeze.

I have one problem…SCATTERPLOTS!! We have to do one for every problem we do (at least for this chapter.) I mean, we know how to make scatterplots, we don’t need practice, just let us plug it into our calc to see the correlation yada yada. But it gets really fun when we have to do one of the 50 states, then take two states out and do it again:)

At my school, it’s the class that everyone thinks is really easy, because it’s the “easiest AP,” then once they fail the first 6 quizzes, they finally wise up. Very difficult class to do well on, in my school. I’m studying for the test right now, and I’m ripping my hair out :D

Lol you guys got it bad, i took stats last year and had the best teacher ever. We would discuss the office and she was one of those teachers who loved to teach and make corny teacher jokes.

We had a great time ^_^

Wow, is AP Stats really that bad? I was gonna consider self-studying for it next year because I heard the stats teacher is terrible at our school. He even admitted that his objective was to make sure that his students passed … with a 3 and finds it pointless to study so hard for a 4/5.

^ AP stats is ridiculously easy. The complainers just go to challenging schools that make it hard.

it reminds me of like math i learned in 6th grade. booorrrriingggggg as fackkkk
are any of ur guys’ stat classes in a computer lab???

wooo after completing calc II i feel like the math side of my brain is becoming stagnant.
in fact, what is hate most about this year is not being able to continue with calculussss

Uh, my old school didn’t even have a computer lab, so no…

After calc, I REALLY DON’T LIKE STATS AT ALL! No offense to my teacher, because he’s cool, but I find the class sooooo boring and pointless, although I see how important it could be when doing research…but still, I have to be loud in that class to stay awake…

I’ve generally done pretty well with math, but this year I’m in AP Stats (with a SUPER hardcore/passionate teacher) and frankly it ****ing sucks. It’s so hard; half the class has no idea what’s going on, the half that does keeps quiet, and tests are weighed 80% of the grade. (Oh, and all the tests we take are from previous AP exams and he grades them AP-Style.)

Right now we’re talking about correlation/r value/r^2 etc. and it’s just not making sense. I have a C-.

I want out.

I hate AP Statistics.

Oh man, I took this last year and it was absolutely dreadful. It made me miss AP Calc AB, and I thought that class was really hard. But AP Stats… it was both hard and boring, and at least AP Calc was interesting.

I warned all my friends not to take AP Stats, but did they listen to me? Nope. They didn’t believe me! Now they’re all suffering.

Definitely one of the most tedious and aggravating classes I have ever been in. It might help if it was actually a math class, but it isn’t. It really isn’t. Having an awful teacher on top of it all doesn’t help. Of course it may not be the most difficult class out there, and the AP Exam is difficult because they mark you down for missing/including one word, but it’s not even an interesting or useful subject. Let’s draw conclusions from data that isn’t reliable, then state that our conclusion can’t be trusted after all the work you put in. YES! -_- Being a math lover, I would much rather learn Algebra and Trigonometry and Calculus. F you in the A Stats!

Gonna reboot a 4 year old thread. I am taking the class this year and despise it. I just sort of took it this year because all the other sophomores usually take it, but this class is a bunch of BS–I know it’s the beginning of the year but the only thing I’ve legitimately learned new so far is how to do standard deviation and z-scoring. Furthermore, my teacher is teaching the class for her first time ever this year (she taught Algebra/Precalc in years past) and basically reads straight from the CollegeBoard syllabus. Boy do I wish I took AP Physics instead…
