To Kowloon: At most schools, AP Stats is an easier AP. I recommend you take it if ppl at ur school WHO HAVE TAKEN THE CLASS say it's easy.

dude i totally play tetris in math

@llpitch. Luck you. We don't even take notes. All we do is read and do problems. The teacher doesn't teach!!! Oh yeah, we also watch stat. videos for every chapter.

its really easy because we have a great teacher, he's 42 and retired from his wall street job. he teaches adult courses, at princeton (where he is also working on a PhD), and at my school. he is also a world-class poker player (won some "world series" type tournaments). AND has published a book: Amazon.com: The Finest Crew in the Fleet: The Next Generation Cast on Screen and Off (Star Trek): Books: Adam Shrager

I go to a relatively new school (first graduating class 09) so this is the first year that ap stats is taught. I personally like the teacher because he seems interested at the subject and teaching us, unlike other teachers i have where they seem disgusted when someone does not understand. I am doing very well in the class and believe it is relatively easy, but i will not know till i take the test. So i am probably going to do supplemental reading with my Ap class.

Lol, AP Statistics is one of the easiest AP classes at my school. The past semester a 88.5% was considered an A-! I mean the teacher is just really chill and makes sure everyone does well.

i hate ap stat more than ive ever hated a class in my entire life. its ridiculously easy and my grades reflect that, but my teacher seems to think it is difficult. i have gotten a perfect paper on nearly every quiz/test this year but he says to me often that i will FAIL if i do not take notes on his extremely dull and slow lectures. Also he has said on many occasions that i will FAIL if i don't do my homework. I've done maybe 2 hws this year out of 25 or so, and i'm pretty sure i'm not failing. that class just ****es me off

I like math that is based on math.

I love geometry and calculus; statistics is not a math class!

Lol, I’m taking Stat with Calc BC, and I hate them both. Stat is a breeze in comparison, but like it has been mentioned before, the class is anything but AP caliber. It’s on such lowered standards on so many levels that I don’t even care to discuss it out of disgust. The teacher’s only other subject is Algebra 1 at the high school level. Ugh…

I’m also taking Stats and BC Calc at the same time. Now, I love Calculus (a real math class), but I do hate Statistics (bs of a math class). I don’t even consider Stats as in the same category as real math. It is so easy and almost has gotten to the point where I would have been better off just not taking the class and bought a prep book. It’s SO very easy.

Stats is the class you take when you’re done with the real math.

Reason I hate AP Stats:
I have a very stupid teacher that doesn’t know what shes doing. We correct her at least 7 or 8 times a period, she always messes up on creating her rubric.
Very mediocre teacher. Some times I’m scared that she is teaching us wrong material.

An0maly, right you are. Stats = fake math.

Yeah, Stats is not even able to be considered actual math. There may be some minor calculations, but it comes nowhere even remotely close to Calculus. It’s still good to take the class because it sure does help the GPA, especially if APs are weighted :D

this brings back terrible memories!! i hve the same teacher again this year for discrete math/graph theory… w/e. It was more of the claass than the teacher.

woww… really? stats was so easy that I pretty much learned the entire course in about 25-30 hours using an actual textbook. It should seriously be taken in like 9th grade.

well, my teacher graded INSANELY hard. like, out of 70 students (total) there were 9 As and I go to a school thts ranked top 10 by Newsweek and ranked the best school in florida by a bad ranking system (lol). So, it’s definitely not the students but the teacher. The students are actually really smart…

I don’t really like the class very much. My teacher is nice and everything, but I don’t have the confidence in the class to actually take an AP exam.

I mean, he gives a 100 for hw if you just have something(not everything) down. Not to mention he goes on tangents sometimes(Some of them are interesting, some aren’t.)

LOL. My school’s AP Stats has Calc as a prereq. Nothing past Alg 1 though. The class/HW isn’t even that hard, it’s just that THERE’S SO FRIGGIN MUCH OF IT.

No matter how horrible the class or teacher, and in my case it is both, it is nothing that going through Barron’s a few times can’t fix.
