I was accepted to Arts& Sciences w/ a 4.0 GPA- ap classes, pretty competitive NY public school& all that jazz, and 2360 sat (thanks objective; one can only hope for a 2360 gpa); which I know isn't all that impressive or outstanding in Cornell, but it can't be THE WORST stats for a Cornell acceptee, right?

But I just have a horrible feeling that i'm going to be the stupidest kid there and have to drop out/ transfer within months.

I still haven't sent my acceptance card yet.

How much is the workload at Cornell? Is it impossible to get an A?
And I'm a bio major, so it's probably going to be intense.

I'm used to not getting much sleep at all; but I'm still pretty daunted.

I assume 2360 is your SAT, not your gpa. You are far from the stupidest kid at Cornell. Have some confidence. It is a tough place, no doubt about it, but your stats would certainly indicate that you can handle it.

And a 2360 SAT is impressive and outstanding anywhere.

I think many entering students feel just as you do. You have such a strong work ethic judging by your GPA and you can certainly score well on a SAT (not a mark of intelligence) which tells me you can take a long exam. Just keep up with your work and don’t procrastinate. I am sure you are going to be fine.

your stats are very similar to mine coming into Cornell, and I’m a bio major here. I’m currently a sophomore. I think you’ll probably do fine. nothing’s to say you’ll find it easy, or you’ll be at the top of all the curves, but you are certainly well qualified. work hard!

P.S. one time I actually was the stupidest one…it’s not the end of the world.

If ur worried about being the dumbest kid there with a 2360, then my 1910 must mean that im brain dead. im obviously kidding, but should should have a little more confidence in yourself. I may not have the best SAT score, but i got in and deserve to be there just as much as the people who got 2400s.

sheesh guys. calm down. just a pre freshie’s anxieties.
i just thought that some people would share this feeling, much like the
“i think i’ll get rejected by every single college” anxieties and shenanigans that we all go through.
apparently not.
no need for hostilities.

■■■■■- is this another cc thing, like “d’s” and “s’s?”
i don’t visit here often enough to know :/

no, ■■■■■ is a word used around the internet in general. anytime someone makes a purposefully inflammatory post, or says something otherwise stupid or distracting, it’s considered ■■■■■■■■. since you didn’t mean to cause a problem, I guess you don’t qualify as a ■■■■■.

okay, I’m going to try to rationalize with this thread.

I understand your feeling. I too, for a minute, was afraid i wouldn’t be able to handle the workload. Although, my SAT score is a good 400 points lower than yours. My gpa is also lower than yours.

as a result, i’m going to do the Pre-freshman summer program this summer to help adjust to the rigorous workload.

But honestly, if you go in to Cornell with the mindset that you are stupid, then you will make yourself stick out like a sore thumb for no reason at all. No one else going to think you are stupid unless you give them a reason to. And a 2360 SAT and a 4.0 gpa are not reasons.

take a deep breath, work hard in your classes, have more confidence, and you’ll be fine.
