What a joke.

^ Seconded.

^but then, there is IPv6, which has almost infinite number of addresses

^True. IPv6 is the future of the internet!

IPv6 has enough permutations to make one IP address for every molecule in the Milky Way

So have any of you had your Princeton interview yet? Just had mine, and don’t know what to make of it.

Why so? Was it a phone interview or a normal one?
Didn’t apply to P’ton, but I just had my interview, and it was amazing. Pixie, my status may be of your interest :p

So my mom was clearing out old stuff today and she found this Iridium Satellite Phone brochure, back from 2000.
The “portable phones” weighed 2ish kg, had a 6 inch long fat antenna protruding from the top and oh, prices start at 2000 pounds. Anddd… “Ultra-fast intrnet” at 9.6 kbps and a godly data transfer price. Something like $1 for 5 kb or something =P

^^ “Ultra-fast internet” at 9.6 kbps? WOW!!

We had an average speed of 1 kbps at that time. What was the average speed at your place?

@tiyas I have mine on the 10th of this month. How did yours go?

1kbps (kilobits) in 2000? Nope. 1 kilobyte per second, yes. :)

Somewhere around that much only! Lol I remember getting VERY happy when my speed went upto 2 or even 3 KBps :D

@ani I meant Kilobytes per second.

@violator: same here! 10th.

Just finished uchicago interview. Do I hold the record for most number of interviews? 10 is my number. :D

It was at 7:00 pm on skype.

6:35 pm- Check email. check cc. check skype. She’s not there. Good.
6:40 pm- She’s online! Log off! log off! log off! (she had said she’d be early due to time difference)
6:45- Where’s my red shirt? Where’s my red shirt?? I want my red shirt!
6:50- Doesn’t anyone understand my shirt has to match my specs? I can’t give the interview without my precious red shirt!
6:55- emerge triumphant My red shirt!
6::59- plonks herself down on chair

^10!

There must be something magical in your CommonApp ID.

Tippu, thanks a lot for posting.

^Where did he post?

Btw. Gary and Quasi seem to have set a trend. I expect Ani or you to get what that means this time. :p

Hello all, so I had a concern, and thought that I should voice it here on TiT. I’m sure that all of us have sent in predicted grades for the upcoming Board exams to all our colleges. Now, the onus is on us to live up to those results. So here’s my problem. I have taken up a sixth subject as well (apart from the five core subjects that CBSE mandates), and surprisingly, my teacher sent predicted marks for that subject as well. But now, I might decide to not write the sixth subject paper. Its too much of a burden to study an entire syllabus from scratch in three days time and get a good score (FYI, i am a science student). On asking CBSE, I was told that my report card will say ABS instead of FAIL in case I choose not to write the paper.

But I want to ask how this decision of mine will matter when it comes to my application. We do send our Board results after admission and on deciding to attend, right? So, will colleges rescind their admission offers when they see that I have absented from the sixth subject? Or are they accommodative? I mean, I can explain my situation if necessary. The sixth subject IS optional, and my teacher didn’t really communicate with me properly before filling in the predicted marks :/

You should have asked the school to write to the council to make them drop the optional subject. Not going will do much more harm

And pixie, 10?
I didn’t get what you meant though :|

^Don’t sweat it. Send an e-mail to your admissions counselor at whichever college you choose to attend explain the situation. If required, get your school counselor to email him/her too. Colleges do not want to rescind their admissions offers so I’m sure they’ll understand.

On another note, I still haven’t received any details about my Princeton interview though I got two separate emails (one from the Office of Admissions and one from the regional coordinator) about 3 weeks ago stating that I would have an interview soon Has anyone from Delhi had their Princeton interview already??
