The Indian Thread #19

hey, wasupp people?
(new here)

No. 4 years apart.

@Guitarclassical- well so you are saying that receiving an interview offer means something in terms of admissions to a particular college??(I’m talking specifically about Brown here)

I can’t say that for sure. However, things like two interviews or an interview in mid/late-march, from any college, make a big difference. My Brown interview was not great at all. It was barely okay. Or probably just bad.

well, i’m sure interviews aren’t that important for penn/wharton…

Sorry for assuming otherwise guitarclassical.

To answer Gary’s question, chelsearox has been admitted ED to Penn SEAS from TiT.

I made chelsearox add gary on FB. He knows.

^Good job. ;)

Oh very nice to hear about all these acceptances for fellow Indians.

And, in defence of my retaking the SAT: I didn’t do it for admissions, it was a personal thing. I just felt a bit irked by the writing score. Had I gotten a low Math score and nice scores in writing and reading, I’d never have retaken for something even much lower than 2280. I’m just a bit weird that way. I set meaningless personal standards and get worked up over not meeting them. :)

Don’t we all? Or perhaps that’s just me. Especially with regard to writing, so I completely understand how you feel.

Thanks arunemo.

Did you have your Wellesley interview yet? I missed the request deadline…

And completely off-topic, aniruddhc, you seem quite the social butterfly here on cc. Do you know EVERYone? :)

I missed it too. So annoyed.
I’ve only had two so far, and I’m thinking that’s as many as I’ll get. Those two went really well though, so I’m happy. How about you?

He says he’s a Computer Whiz, but he just uses his skills to stalk everyone on the net and pretend like he’s got connections everywhere. I’d watch out if I were you, tiyas.

I just had P’ton, which I always take for granted as an impossible reach. It was okaaay, I suppose, but only 30 mins-ish. Phone interviews make me uncomfortable. We just talked about random things like feminism, literature, P’ton’s atelier program, and so on.

Do you think there’s any way we could nag the Wellesley adcom into giving us interviews? Just thinking…too pre-occupied with things on the Indian front to spend much time nagging any adcom right now, though.

Ani has been most helpful to me. ;)

I agree with you guys on writing. I wrote six commonapp essays and edited the one I chose 20(more than 20?!) times and only then submitted it!! After the Yale fiasco i didn’t want to take any chances. Left me little time for other essays though.

Nemo: i shall reward ur patience well. :stuck_out_tongue: seriously. I write more/faster when im NOT on my phone. Thanks for understanding.

^tell 'em who the real stalker is.

Six commonapp essays. Wow.

And-

W t f ? :S
I didn’t say that I was a comp whiz! :expressionless:
And usualllllly people from cc add me / ask them to add me, I don’t add them. Unless they’re regular, in which case I add them if they haven’t already
