@TheEcnegilletni - just realized you got into Harvard in SCEA! Awesome! Why are you even worried???
Btw, please share your stats!

Anybody crazy about economics here?

@phr34k Crazy about econ but its not my intended major.

@mechrockz- Nice to know there’s someone… And the best part about economics is that you can apply it almost anywhere… That’s why I guess there are economists from physics, engineering!

@Bist- Yes financial engineering gets you loads of money, but due to the extent to which it caused damage to the world, there are many regulations placed around Wall Street. So it won’t be the same as it was pre 2008…

So, why not start a discussion about GAME THEORY. Prisoner’s dilemma, Nash Equilibrium, decision making. Like above.
Its nothing but interesting.

Quantum physics is very interesting, especially all of the experiments. It almost plays tricks on your mind. On another note, has anyone read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks? It combines the life sciences and the ethical aspect of science!

@khittee and all interested in econ and game theory and even those who are not, basically @everyone haha: watch this –> [Golden Balls - £100,000 Split Or Steal? 14/03/08 - YouTube](<a href=“Golden Balls - £100,000 Split Or Steal? 14/03/08 - YouTube”>Golden Balls - £100,000 Split Or Steal? 14/03/08 - YouTube)

@iamthebist: Thanks! As for my stats, hmmm…I don’t feel that numbers really define a person. Basically, all I will say is that I consistently performed well in school/SATs, participated in extracurricular activities that I have been very passionate about throughout high school, and wrote essays that showed them who I am. Note: not an international olympiad medalist, not a best-seller author, did not discover a cure for cancer. :D

^^ congrats for getting accepted at Harvard.
Enjoy rest of ur life…

^ Pessimistic hopefulness inducing sadistic comments? :P

@Mrinal2207: thanks! would have enjoyed my life regardless! :P

^ no idea what u r talking about…

^arrey college is not the only thing in life although it may seem like that at this point.

Of course college is not the only thing…FOOTBALL is… :P

^Haha! Exactly. :D

no, college is indeed the only life and I didnt say that.
I meant to say that u dont have to run through rest of the app process and u can njoy the rest of the time while in india.

^I am fortunate in that sense. However, the workload at my school has not lightened.
Btw, I’m a domestic applicant.

well, I still have 10 months till I start applying to colleges.
Till then, I will just lay back and relax( well, not if my school doesnot want me to!!). Anyways, I should have clarified the thoughts behind my previous post.

^Enjoy! And all the best to you on the application process :)

^thnx

sighs I would really live if the selection pricess was a bit transparent, sometimes I feel If going out of the line( at least for my school) is worth the anxiety, it seems like we are in a dark hall and the college acceptances at the other end of the hall and the luckiest one will win( Luck plays its part, but the rest of the application depends on us and how we present ourselves) but no one is a perfect apllicant and all we can do is hope( no definite criteria for admissions).

*love

*applicant

my phone’s typing is not the best, my apologies.
