That made men laugh so hard! I will find it even more amusing if you are not an Indian ;)

I am doing the same with UberStrike - a CS alternative for Mac. Having HD graphics as an added bonus doesn’t hurt :)

That’s great! I remember when I heard these terms for the first time in AP Lit a month ago, I was surprised as to how detailed and analytical Poetry can be. As a matter of fact, I was surprised that English could have such a precise approach to novels and such. Just like science. I also love how one can interpret the text in any way - provided it makes some sense - and disregard other’s opinions :)

So guys, what the most frustrating essay topic that you have seen in your applications till now? For me, it definitely has to be the “Why Engineering” essay in the supplements.

About the essays, man!! have to write so many! Is anyone applying to Macalester College? have to write 5 essays for its supplement!
The time consuming and hypocritical topics I found to be are:
Neuroscientists have recently discovered the part of the brain most active in decision-making. What human trait would you most want to understand, and what makes it significant to you?
What is the most memorable advice, good or bad, you have ever received? Did you follow it? What happened?
Why will such and such college help you grow as a better person and a better student.or something like, "what is the unique aspect of xyz university interests you the most? ( narcissism)
The weirdest was, “Describe a “why not” moment in your personal life.”

@Aleajactaest: I think only 10 students or so here keep the forum alive 24*7

i see that my post was ignored haha i have a question for you guys. what exactly are you taking? the SAT and the ACT? or just AP exams? I was kinda a bit too lazy to read through all 56 pages of comment :P

@darkdown: modded gta sa is always great,i once turned carl into vegeta
really 7fps? that must have been jittery as hell.
and i am not much into pc gaming, too much time making sure the goddamned specs are right and too little time playing. a ps3 may not be that hardcore but it does the job. @veethiv
the trait that makes adcoms ask stupid essay questions
good advice-hit a adcom in the face
the idiocy of your adcoms interests me
why not break into an adcom’s house and scare him to death
(Disclaimer: if there is any adcom present on this forum, please don’t be offended. :D)

@tennischicaxo: Sorry, might have missed your post in this tsunami of posts
As far as I know, everyone on this thread is taking just the SAT Reasoning Test and 2-3 SAT Subject Tests. AP Tests are just used for credits, i.e. you want to finish college in 3 years instead of 4. ACT is a less known alternative to the SAT but is equally recognized by all top universities.

Don’t feel rejected, help’s there when you need it :)

Emory? Well I’m a sophomore, so I’m not really sure as to where I want to go right now. I’m actually shooting for the high end Ivy Leagues. Ya know, Princeton, Harvard… those things. I’m on the right track at the moment, and if I do well for the next 2 and a half years of high school, I should be going to one of em. Emory is kinda like a last resort. A ton of Georgians get in, so it’s not REALLY impressive. Then again, I want to be a doctor, so it’s not a bad idea.

And to Tizil7: Where are you? Haha I feel like the world’s biggest creeper.

Yeah I asked you about Emory because of your location… Even I am a girl haha
They have a really good med school. Anyway, you have a lot of time, unlike us, who have just 3 months or so. Good Luck! :)

@darkdown: megan fox and badass rims, thats right up my alley. Ever tried getting a veyron and making it super fast @veethiv: police station, hmmn that seems like a strong EC @tennischicaxo: smart south indian who wants to be a doctor, naturally you are going to be a great one. Just don’t fit to the cliche, and have a great social life. :D
