The Indian Thread #20

Well texaspg, if you could, can you help me out with an essay problem that I can pm you about? It’s not so much reading the essay as it is helping me with the topic. I promise it won’t take much of your time :)

Tizil - sure - send it my way. I got a request recently from Kenya but interestingly enough no one from India ever asked!

I have a kid also applying this year. PG are my initials.

staying up late ftw

For you, karan :D

It’s still just 8:47 here ^_^

Btw, (10char)

I thought I might as well just take the 1000th post without any significant contribution :D

Oh and then there’s always the matter of taking the 1000th reply and from this moment on, TIT #20 ushers in a new era of awesomeness :D

@texaspg-Well I have published one paper. I am in the process of publishing more. Well I am applying to Harvard, Yale, UChicago, UPenn, Columbia, CMC, BU, U Minnesota, UMass Amherst, I am applying for economics… Any advise. I am just hoping that the adcoms don’t focus on the mediocre 12th board results…

phr34k - is your published work in Economics? Did you already graduate 12th? Adcoms can’t see those results if you have not and have to admit you based on what your school submits as school grades.

Minnesota has a rolling admission. Did you apply yet? It should not be too hard to get in but it is really cold!

Harvard supplement requests you to submit your advisor’s name and email as well as ways you you can upload your paper/abstract. Yale asks for something similar. U chicago and Columbia have ways you can do it too and allow your advisor to provide a recommendation too.

@texaspg- I graduated 12th in 2011. I have taken a gap year.

And yes my published work is in economics.

I know Minnesota is really cold but UMinn is amazing for economics!

good night everyoneee :slight_smile: haha
oh and texaspg: yeah it was probabaly more like 2 years ago. i tend to exaggerate. a lot. sorry :P

Best a** Lamborghini Aventador

Wow. Looks like i missed a lot in a night. Fights, caste discussions… :open_mouth:
D&D and Tennischicaxo- Look you are both amazing people with amazing ECs who will get in just about anywhere i guess. You have issues, take it out OUT of the thread!

Well, about the SC/ST/OBC thing, i sorta agree with D&D. They may not have the same opportunities as people like us might, but that does not make them qualified. Who do you want to do your bypass surgery/cut open your brain to take a tumor out, a guy who is QUALIFIED or a guy who became a doctor on a sympathy vote?
Sure, they SHOULD be getting opps, they might be brighter than us, but that is no reason to make allowances; atleast not in professions where there is a lot at stake.

On a crazier note. IM SO NERVOUS!!! I just started prepping a WEEK back! :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :frowning: high tension What if i lose my head in the exam or make stupid mistakes? Does anybody else think so too?

Also, any idea about the difficulty level of Kaplan tests? Because that’s pretty much all i’m taking for practice. And, how many tests are you doing for practice before the test?

(Sorry for the deviation from the entertainment, but i thought maybe we could get a little serious :P)

Okay. I tried. :stuck_out_tongue:
So what’s up with you guys? Whatcha doing now?

Just practicing tests

@d&d so your favorite is???

AP Exams - you can find old exams here under each subject.

@Texaspg- Do you know any site where i can get prac tests for the Eng Lit subj SAT?
Thanks a lot :)

Hey, how come SparkNotes has nothing for Eng Lit?
im getting sick of looking up sources for this :/

Hey, another 2016’er here :)
