Well,I m interestd in knowin more about the school things more(that recommendations n all..)coz my school dont know exactly wat to do....
N dont worry too much bout ur ECs...as u see....u really dont hav to b recognised at national level n all.......although they do act as imptrant points....but I u dont hav then no need to even think bout it......just focus on wat is best avaliable ECs for u which u would love to share with the adcoms....the rest is assured......:D..

So it seems TiT is catching up!
I am just back from Delhi, gave the ACT today. I was stunned after seeing the test, It was the same test i gave in October.

I am using normal post for sending stuff, which would cost 80 INR for each packet.

As far as ECs are concerned,i believe that topic has been discussed a million times on CC, anyone in doubt should read the featured discussions on Admission Forum.

As far as Transcripts are concerned, each school has a different system. It would be best to do what KTwin said.

Huzefa: Predicted results mean your Trial/Pre-Board results.

What % of the total 4 yr. costs should be in the sponser's savings account for the Visa Interview[Delhi US embassy] ?. My total 4 Yr. expenditure comes around 55 Lakhs and I have the I-20 amount[14 lakhs] in my savings account, so will that do ?. I'll show the remaining 41-42 lakhs through the C.A statement of the sponser's Real Estates. So are my 14 lakhs enough for the financial proof or should I start increasing my savings account status ?.
Kindly Advice.

Abhishiv:would u mind comin to gtalk....

Pranjal/Slimshady: What was the answer of that i + i^2 + i^3 .... question? Was it i or 12 + i?

wouldn't i + i^2 +i^3 be -1?

= i + -1 + (i^2)i
= -1

Can't remember exactly but The complete question was
i + i^2 + i^3 + .......+ i^49.
I guessed i which is probably correct.

Btw k_twin which language are you Targeting for Huntsman?

I'm undecided on whether I'll even do Huntsman, I'm tilting toward Fisher now.

the ans is i.....

EC's: Passion is VERY important.. they want people who know loads of things but highly specialize in some , so they have a talented mix of people from different spheres who are masters of their trades..

having people being gud at a hundred things and best at none doesn't really help at international levels coz it doesn't give u any level of distinctiveness..

but ofcourse with those passion , an array of other interesting activity no matter how small in quantity should be mentioned as well to highlight the broader spectrum while still focusing on specialties..

They want achievers of a certain level who know a lot of things . That is why selection and selective focus is very important in any application..

choose what you want them to see and not give them the option of choosing what they want themselves to see..

SM

and ofcourse the answer is i, taking even numbers first we get all pairs (of forms (i^2n and i^4n )reduce to zero being left with i + i(again that same even set which is zero)....

thus reducing to i ..

Anyone else scanning the MIT EA thread? Surreal feeling...

^........true...I was pointin out the same thing....passion can b descirbd in 1 or 2 EC(s) alone...not to fill evry column within same field..

ah, well then we all seem to agree! :)
That's a problem with online forums, a lot of discussions occur at cross purposes.

hahaha this was funny... all when i thought the thread was heating up to another debate ..
hehe

well MIT .. k_twin you shud have seen last year's craze and madness on the EA and regular decision day ...

even though EA decision were not highly representative of the international Admissions which are by far more insane yet they were a matter of great discussion always..

SM

Well, I've got an anxious few days ahead at any rate, Ankur did you apply early anywhere?

nope i didnt coz of the financial aid problem and a couple of other complexitiies that are irrelevant here..

Moreover most of the univ i wanted to go restricted International aid applicants to the regular decision phase..
anwys cya guys. me back to work
