The National Society of High School Scholars- Silly to put in my application?

When I first got an invitation to this "honors society", I was quite surprised. I take advanced and AP classes, but my GPA isn't amazing at all. I have a 3.3 or so. My parents and I decided to sign up anyway. Why not?

However, I'm actually hesitating putting it on my online applications. Would it make me sound fishy as a member of an honor society with a measly 3.3 gpa? I don't want colleges to think I'm suspicious or even worse, think I'm stupid for signing up for such a weird organization and thinking it's reputable!

What should I do?

Is it one of those ask you to pay for a membership? I remember my D received those fishy invitation but never pay attention to them. If there is little requirement, it worths nothing.

Search on this site for it. Scam

Don’t put it on your app…

Don’t list any “honor” that you paid for.

Don’t waste your money.

NSHSS means nothing. They just want your money, its not an honor.

It does look silly. Don’t mention it. It is an honor you"bought."

Yes. Silly.

There are actually more than one like that in the mail. Just keep watching out.
