nutmeg…, my understanding is that whoever is your “administrator” will receive the notification just like a principal of public or private high school. If that’s your parent, then you should be able to find out just as early, if not earlier. Good Luck.
@hhooper ah thank you very much!
I’d think the administrator (i.e. parent) an also call on the 6th to get the information if it’s not forthcoming.
Nothing today in Houston.
Nothing in south Florida, thinking it’s coming tomorrow
@curiouscat319 good luck! And what are you planning on majoring in?
@Icgusa computer science! By the way guys, my friend in school today told me he got the letter yesterday. He had a couple c’s and were both in south Florida. Not sure if my mails slow or not…
aha! a report of a rejection letter in south Florida on 6/23/17. A clue! Sorry for your friend, @curiouscat319.
The nmf marketing is ramping up in anticipation. Opening the schools’ full ride pitches makes me thoughtful indeed, after running the numbers recently for Northeastern and USC. But then I think about lifestyle and post grad job market – and think nmf half tuition is the better investment. I will just have to stay healthy and work until I am 90. No problem.
I presume he lives in the same city as you @curiouscat319 ? Because if the letters were mailed by region you should have gotten yours already.
Nothing in our mail today in the Dallas area.
@Icgusa We live about 20 miles away from each other, couple cities away. I haven’t gone home yet but I’ll probably get it today because we had similar grades
Yeah, maybe it’s just sorting in your local post office. Be on the look out the rest of the week. It comes in a regular standard-size envelope with the National Merit logo on the top left corner. @curiouscat319
Will do, nothing today
So, one of the SF from our school got a letter on Saturday saying not qualified for finalist – mom said “some bad grades.” We are in Louisiana.
Nothing in Houston on Tuesday. Maybe…
The people who are posting here and wondering…do all of you have a troubled situation, such as 2 or more semester grades of C?
It seems that way. My son isn’t overly concerned but I’m a worrier! He has straight A’s and a great resume, so to speak. Still worried because he’s worked so hard to get this far. Well, I’m also fairly competitive.
Only thing on S is a “low” GPA. No C’s but < 3.7 GPA…so lots of B-. We aren’t real worried, but the outcome here is a HUGE difference at UK. Probably difference between 15K and 100K in scholarships. The GPA has ruled us out of so many other opportunities here.
Just a nervous family here. D has had good grades, but not as much rigor in schedule as it sounds like many of the other NMSFs have had. D did talk to one of her former teachers yesterday and he thought that the only kids that didn’t advance previously from her school did have some Cs, so that eased her mind a bit. D is planning on attending Alabama, so the difference between Presidential scholarship and NMF is pretty significant as you know @mom2collegekids !
