The Official AP Chemistry Discussion Thread

OMG that was godawful. MUCH harder than any practice tests I took; I thought it was more concepts-based than usual bleph.

You thought that that was hard?

I will admit that I thought it was harder than most of the practice tests that I have taken, but it was still really easy.

I was so easy and im not that great at chem

4, I actually thought the reverse. many of the practice tests had concepts I didnt cover in class yet in today’s exam everything I at least saw before.

Chem is my best subject so I might be biased, but everybody that I talked to thought that it was easy.

@abercrombieindy

That just depends on what your teacher taught you, I just felt that this was harder than average overall.

No question that it was easy though.

For an AP Chem test, I thought it was relatively easy. I don’t believe anything is a lock, but I’m pretty sure I got what I wanted.

Done Done Done DONEEEEEEE I’m so happy xD

^^^ I like concepts maybe that was why I liked it…lol. Now the MC math I don’t even bother sometimes. I didnt do like 2FRQ because I’m a REALLY slow test taker.

haha…i thought it was freaking hard…like really really hard…lol…and i thought i was going to do okay cuz i had gotten projective 4-5 on tests…well, goodbye 5…hello…1??!

I wasn’t sure if this year had more concepts or not than previous years. I did feel a sense of less “mathyness” though. Yeah abercrombie, I didn’t get to 1 part for 2 FRQs but I don’t think that will be a big problem.

Yeah it really depends on what your strengths are.

There was definitely less math than usual, if you’re really strong conceptually this was really easy.

wow that was pretty hard compared to what I’d expected. We’ve been doing practice AP questions for several weeks in class and I’ve been doing very well on them. I guess I just had an expectation of such a low level of difficulty that the actual exam seemed quite hard. I left ~10 MC blank and 1 or more subsection blank in each FRQ.

I had thought I’d get a 5 no problem… now I’m expecting maybe a 4 at least.

Yeah, it seems as though the problem was that this exam was different than past exams. You really needed a knowledge of chem rather than a knowledge of previous exams.

Definitely agree 4.0. I didn’t really notice that until the equilibrium problem. It was set up a lot differently than previous tests.

I was just talking about the frq, I mean the mc is always pretty much the same.

Oooo ok gotcha

Too much lab stuff?

48 hours isn’t over but there was the same amount of that stuff as there always is.

Yeah there’s always 1 lab question; and that’s what there was this year.

Lawl that was so easy. I got around 75-80% probably, maybe more.

Is that pretty far into 5 territory?

That’s way into the 5 territory. You only need a ~67% to get a 5.
