Brown = reject

i was rejected straight by Northwestern. Now Brown seems even more surreal...

sigh I at one point had a smidget of hope but now i think i just set myself up for rejection. so march 31st is going to be a looooong day of sadness.

prepared to face rejection from = brown, cornell
really...no hope anymore

This thread is so depressing. Geez. I feel my own hope leaking away, and I was feeling good a minute ago....

Prepared to face imminent rejection from Stanford and upcoming rejection from Brown. :(

Hope has no place on Earth, unless you have reason to have it.

i think we need to pep up on here. sure its 8-9% but were all going to some amazing college if we applied to brown. cheer up and focus on the acceptances. life goes on. :)

^Yes it does. But the word "rejection" itself is a negative word. Even though they don't actually "We reject you" -- that is if the school isn't Rice (lolling at the "Application status: deny" part) -- you know that you've been "rejected."

No one is happy when rejected.

i've gotten two rejections and i've been fine. not happy persay but take it instride. few people get in EVERYWHERE. and like i said we've all got somewhere. just cause its not an ivy doesnt mean its not amazing and perfect for you.

^I'm not happy per se either after one reject and one waitlist and I accept the fact that few people get in EVERYWHERE.

It's just some dissapointment.

I approach it with a happy pessimism: "Hey, I probably won't get in, and I'm cool with that." This way, I wouldn't be too disappointed with a rejection, and I'd be extremely elated and surprised at an acceptance.

I've gotten rejected from one school so far (and gotten into five), and although the rejection was one of my top three, I wasn't too disappointed, since I didn't expect to get in! (:

Keep you hope high guys. I have found the admission decisions rather random.

Accepted - UChicago, WUSTL, and four top Canadian universities
Waitlisted - Duke
Rejected - Amherst, (probably Williams), Northwestern, UC Berkeley (what?!)

I wish I applied to UChicago and WUSTL just so I'd have something to gauge against...the only other school I applied to that's remotely like Brown in stats is Northwestern, and I got in, but it's not Brown.

Crossing my fingers for March 31st

^Yea...Brown admissions will be competitive this year.

I don't expect to get in at all. People have been saying 8% to 9%.

I don't have hope for anything any more at this point.

@.serendipity

I meant Trinity U in San Antonio haha. But i just got rejected by JHU, so i'm not expecting much from Brown

Safety here i come

I was just waitlisted at JHU. Eh, not excited to hear from Brown on tuesday.......

^Who is? Anyone in their right minds would be bracing for the worst. (Except for the genius or perfect student at your school who thinks he/she is inconquerable and collects admit letters from every top school ... and still manages to pull it off when you expect his/her ego to get in the way)

Sorry bitter digression...

haha @ ab2013. :)
