The Official Fall 2014 UCLA Transfer Decisions Thread

I hope we all get in

So I just met with the UCLA rep at my school and I told her that there are rumors that UCLA will release the results this weekend and she said that I should start checking Friday after 5pm! That’s a good sign!!

@anavera‌ I looked at UCLA’s transfer day and if the schedule remains the same, it will be on May 9th and 10th. You could probably attend the May 9th portion and then head over to UCSD on the 10th.

Thx @squashbanana.
These last few days, the Brooklyn Bridge coulda fallen and I wouldn’t know. I need it DONE! :((

Soo
how come everyones saying 5pm?
I have seen it in Davis’ thread too I think
It doesn’t make much sense to me since that’s when offices close and employees go home right?
Have they always come out after 5pm historically? I will respect past patterns if that’s true.

Well, yes, 9-5 are normal business hours for most places, and I imagine that’s the case for UC admissions office. So what actually happens is throughout the day, they get everything set up so that everything is ready to be uploaded by a single push of a button. Then at 4:55 PM, there is a drawing of straws, whoever draws the short straw, has to push the button. So by 4:59 PM, everybody but one person is bunched up against the exit doors. Then at Precisely 5 PM, everyone that’s at the door leaves and the guy with his finger on the button pushes it and then runs to the door. This is done at 5PM on a Friday so that no one has to deal with the fallout of releasing admission decisions.

I always thought it was so they didn’t have to answer a thousand phone calls after they reject a bunch of people!

Good luck dealing with anxiety tomorrow everyone. It’s gonna be rough.

As we near our day of doom and we do our final prayers, I want to say don’t let this decision make you because just the fact that we made it this far shows how great we can be. Having said that, may the odds be ever in your favor!

Hey guys. I emailed admissions last week regarding some changes in my coursework, and today they replied saying that decisions will be released MID-to-late April. so I guess that’s another sign pointing to this weekend. Good luck everyone!

They also gave me my ucla id o_O

What do people have for their housing message on URSA? Mine got changed between yesterday and today

Well, if the trick of previous years and the fact that admissions will be released tomorrow is true, then I’m not admitted.

If you were admitted. You could allegedly see your financial aid award letter, apply for housing and see your registration status if you logged in with the UCLA ID 2 days before admissions were released.

Although that might not work this year since they’re using myucla instead of URSA.

I called admissions on Tuesday and the admissions officer stated that decisions should be released this weekend. Friday wouldn’t surprise me.

Hmm, admissions officers and representatives are consistently stating that the release will be slated for this weekend. Excellent.

But what I wonder is when they’ll make it official. Today? Friday? I doubt they’ll announce it ON the weekend
so perhaps either today or tomorrow.

@ramonafalls I read something about 3 columns on URSA
not sure if that’s still applicable, but I have 3 columns. My financial aid says it was requested 4/16 and received 4/16. Housing says not available yet for my term.

^^^ I have the same columns and messages, but my financial aid was requested on the 15th.

How do you log in to URSA and attempt this trick?
@RamonaFalls‌

@CooCooCaChoo25‌ ahhh I’m hoping that’s a good sign. Does it let you enroll in summer classes?

@cayton do you know if there’s any credit to this “trick” on checking financial aid and housing?
