The Official Fall 2014 UCLA Transfer Decisions Thread

@ucpsychtransfer You have a better shot than me. I’m currently enrolled in the last pre-req (Chemistry) and will be IGETC certified this spring. However, my gap is about a 3.6. I’m not expecting to get in but would rather get rejected than wonder if I would have made it in. Good luck!

@vmladie03 Honestly, I think it’s more important to have your pre-req’s done since it’s so competitive. I’m crossing my fingers for both of us! What EC’s do you have and where did you apply?

@freetofly112 Well, I am expecting to be up to a 3.83-3.85 by the end of this semester but I’m guessing that doesn’t factor in :frowning: Either way I’m probably auto-rejected w/o chemistry.
Are you a psych major too?

@MYOMOO I emailed UCLA using the contact us page on the admissions website and when I got back a reply, it displayed the email I sent and it had my application ID and a field labeled UID with a 9 digit ID. Later on, when I signed up for summer courses at UCLA, I used the same ID to sign up.

@ucpsychtransfer Not much with EC. I work full-time and volunteer at my daughter’s school. I did include some of my EC from high school but doubt they will count much. I have two little ones under 6, so I don’t really have much time. I guess I’m what is called a non-traditional student, my first attempt at college wasn’t very good, but I do have a strong upward trend.

@RamonaFalls That is great! You may try to login URSA to see the so called “UCLA” trick. lol

@MYOMOO I don’t know about the trick but I have a feeling it’s what I’m doing anyway. I have a balance due for the class I’m enrolled in and I log in to see if it goes down since they charge less for summer session to admitted students.

I see!

did anyone else apply for comm? if so whats your GPA and extracurriculars

Psych major here, 3.86 gpa and all pre-reqs completed. Still worried about my chances.

@ucpsychtransfer
Yeah I am. I’m doing my last prereq this semester as well, which is a biology laboratory.
My GPA is like 3.96
I’m sort of second guessing psych though. If I get in I might just choose to minor in it, and major in Philosophy

@Freetofly112‌ I am too. I’m thinking of switching to environmental science but I’m not sure :(

@socaltransfer14 Nice! At least we have a good couple of months to figure it out

@apocallypso‌ my daughter applied to Comm. 4.0 GPA. A lot of volunteering, some leadership, two related internships. No matter what you think you have, it’s a crap shoot. She refuses to come up here so I have to stalk for her. What’s your GPA and what CC?

@apocallypso‌ just saw your stats. You have a chance. The average GPA for Comm is 3.9. There are obviously people under that GPA. You showed improvement second year and your Mexican heritage and first person in family to go to college are big pluses. How do you feel about your essays? In your case they will probably be a big factor if you can win them over emotionally.

When will the decisions be out?

it says that the decisions will be released in late april

Hello I am an out of state transfer hopping to major in psychology . I have a 3.77 Gpa with all the requirements . I work 30 hours a week . I am apart of the honors program and the honors society as well. My major Gpa is a 4.0 . Do I have a chance of getting in ?

Don’t see too many Engineering students here so,

I’m an Engineering and Computer Science major.

GPA: 4.0

EC’s: Member of a couple engineering clubs and the Honor Society. Also, am a supplemental instructor for Physics, and have tutored math and chemistry for my CC.

Also, I am missing a pre-req that has no articulation to my school.

@EngineerRyan‌

Nice stats. I think you’ll get in!
