Congrats to all the acceptances. Sorry to the people who were not offered acceptance. Wishing everyone the best of luck with wherever they decide to ultimately transfer to.

Rejected with a 4.0 GPA for my major (Political Science) and overall. Finished CCC in 3 semesters and volunteered in West Africa during my extra spring semester. I finished 4 of 5 prerequisite courses for my major, only 4 are required according to assist.org. White, female, grew up in Boston but attended a CCC after high school.

Of those still waiting for a decision, do you think it has to do with last name? Have any of you had to wait and later received a decision? jw if it’s true that they only update once a day.

Since I was so excited, I forgot to post my stats.

Major:Gender Studies
GPA: 3.56
Major GPA:4.0
Major Pre-Reqs: Completed
TAG: Nope, not offered at my school
IGETC: Yes! Taking my last math class this semester

EC: Seriously, no time. I work whenever I can.
Accepted: UCSB, SFSU, SJSU, CSUCI, CSUN
Rejected: None
Pending: UCB

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected (strengths/weaknesses):
I honestly have no idea, I mean my gpa is not as high as the average for UCLA students but my gpa is above average for my program and last year they accepted 67% of those who applied to it! Even the UCLA representative who came to my school said I had a really good chance of getting in. I just must be a big idiot or something :((( My dreams are totally crushed because this was my dream school, but UCSB will be a good choice (doubt I will be getting into UCB if i didnt get into UCLA) The only thing I can think of is that I totally bombed about 4 years ago when I first entered CC but I have been getting amazing grades ever since, and my gpa.

Was honestly not expecting this since admissions was 1.2% last year

Accepted

EC: Honors Program, Math tutor, Leadership role teaching middle school students good study habit, made some computer programs I talked about in my personal statement
Personal Statement: It was pretty good but nothing really special, I talked about an interest in graduate school and some research projects I have completed for my honors program

@chaoscuber CONGRATS!! We were worrying for nothing man

I saw that a lot of waitlisted students from previous year were offered admissions for UCSD. I was also offered the same option but I’m gonna pass on it because I just don’t want to go to SD. Good luck and keep me posted! :)

I’m seriously so surprised…I know appealing is a dumb decision but does anyone think I have grounds to do so? I have had some hardships (serious panic attacks and depression problems, although it really never affected my grades) and that’s the only thing I can think to write about…but yeah i’m just surprised because my GPA is above average for the program I applied to according to last years statistics…who knows maybe a lot more people were interested in gender studies this year
